what am I missing?

I have a SBPT, and I would like to plug it into the wall outlet. I thought that as long as I had an adapter to convert it to a USB (ie iphone charger) I would be able to use it, although so far the only thing it works on is my mac book

The output is most likely not enough. The carger you are using may also use an additional wire for temp or other things. I have heard an Ipod charger works fairly well. Just remeber you will need an adapter that can output 2000mA(2Amps)

I've been using that enercell adapter on my SB/PT for a few weeks now and it's fantastic. It allows you to switch volts from 3, 5, 6, 6.5, 7 and 7.5.
