So today I was given a Clearomizer, CE5 shaped, but with punch holes instead of wicks and the base has the same grated feel as a T3, 2 notches for air clearance. Can't find anything that would help me discover what this is and where it comes from. Which then got me thinking about All the CE5's that don't say iClear16 or anything else. Ego batteries that have no fancy stamp on the bottom. Why is there so little to distinguish between makers? I know why the generics do that, with their poor quality and higher prices, but smok, Innokin, Kanger and Vision, where is their pride? Joye Would stamp my forehead if I let them "Original Vapor from JoyeTech". If you know the answers to this, beyond "they are made in China and with no copyright laws it's almost useless." Are any of these companies American or EU made? Do any of them have factories in the states, so the quality and TM. aren't ripped off? Who built the first Ego? What is an 808, and is it worth using? So many things I want to know, so many issues with my computer and the Wiki. So, if anyone can name that Clearomizer, you shall be dubbed my champion for the day, which means little and comes with nothing but a sense of wellness and cheer. My last non wiki question, partly because even though I have hit my 5 posts I can't seem to leave posts in some forums. I recently found out about the center pin in the batteries or mod tops that can get pushed down (which is why my T3 didn't work on my smok winder). Is pulling this up too far or too often a problem and how does one judge too far? If I keep pulling on it will I go blind or get hairy palms?

I imagine eventually pulling at it too much could break it. As far as pulling it up too *far*: it should only be pulled up enough to make a connection, so just... don't do it more than that. Pulling it up further doesn't help it make connection longer or anything like that.
I bought 510-eGo adapters for all my batteries. They don't have moveable posts so I don't have to worry about different tanks or clearos messing up my battery post. If you keep switching tanks and don't really settle on a brand, it's worth the ugliness of an adapter to not have to bother with that.

Thanks for the advice on the pin, I barely move it, just nudge it up about the length of 1 of the internal threads. Seems to work best that way, and I think it's my charger that is pushing them down. I put all my Attys on my SVD today and non had a problem, so I did the same with my winder. Still all good. Charged the winder, T3 no longer registers on my SVD. Oh, and I found the Clearo CE5+ wickless Rebuildable. Now I just have to find out why it tastes like I am vaping the ghost of my ejuice. The flavor is there, just a little out of reach. And 1 tick up on my winder changes it to burnt. Even tried changing Watts, still no good.
CE5+/CE5-T/wickless CE5/CE8/CE10 depending on the manufacturer/vender.

The Ego was created by Janty out of the Netherlands. They also created the original "classic" RY4 eliquid and had it produced by Dekang. They are one of the oldest vaping companies around. Here is their web site:

Instead of pulling the device's center pin, you can just pull the T3 center pin out a bit (1-2mm) to help establish a better connection.

I can see why it didn't go well. I love my iClear16. Almost as good as my EVOD or T3, but this thing tastes like the death of e-juice. It's chasing the dragon, you vape and vape and vape, and never quite get to the flavor.
I learn so much from here. Had no idea the clearomizers connection was movable. Thought since the whole base needs changed when it goes that the pieces where fairly static. Be careful though others, still want to just pull a little, or you'll get leakage.
Ok, I have been steadily vaping on this for just about an hour, after much trial and error I thought I had hit the sweet spot, but really it just started leaking juice straight into my mouth (I am not intentionally making this whole review sound dirty, only the blindness and hairy palms jokes where intentional, the rest just comes out the ways it does.) I adjusted the pin, switched it all around, Used every battery and function I could and the best I can get brings me back to when I started in 2008 (I know I said 2009 earlier, but I checked my facebook and I started a few months earlier than I thought.) It tastes just like direct dripping onto a old 510 atomizer. The distinct burn (not throat hit, just burn) of wire mesh and e-juice. What I hadn't noticed as I was only puffing every 2 minutes or so, was the casing has slowly heated and is now warping before my very eyes. I guess I should have expected a gift from the person who just divorced me after a long battle with Steven-Johnson Syndrome to be something horrible. I even tried pouring the juice into my regular ce5 and it carried the flavor with it.
I own this Man sooooooo much! Even with mods, I still see the Ego style battery as one of the best things to come out of the vaping industry, and the RY4 is my all day vape.
If you look closely you can see he has the prototype Ego battery in his hand. I think..., yes if I'm not mistaken, that is a also the first black mesh high capacity clearo tank on the top of it. It's a passthru too - man these guys were way ahead of their time.
