I have clearomizers with replaceable coils and clearomizers without them. For the replaceable coil units, I frankly don't find it worth the time to clean them and would rather spend a couple bucks replacing the entire coil/wick assembly.

But for clearos that are not made with removable coils, what are the recommended effective ways of cleaning them for better performance?

I know that opinions vary, just trying to get a consensus.

Hi bigbells,
There is no real difference in the way you clean them and I have good luck cleaning and dry burning them often. Depending on the juice, that is darker juices may require cleaning sooner, I may clean in 3 days. Speaking of top coil non-replaceable head, first unscrew tip, then with needle-nose pliers, grab metal spike and remove. Rinse everything in hot water until clean, then allow to dry some. If what I just described sounds like what you got, then what I do next is dry burn the coil. Then rinse in hot water again and allow to dry overnight. If the wick is really dirty you can soak overnight in Vodka or Alcohol, then rinse in water and allow to dry. I always rotate between 2 or more devices, so I always allow to dry over night, but not everybody does. The more often you do this, IMHO, the better it works and doesn't seem to shorten the life of the coil at all......im amazed how long some of these coils are lasting :) There are youtube videos of dry burning and im sure cleaning. Good luck
