Nicotine is a mild vasoconstrictor, so if you have uncontrolled hypertension, that could be a problem. And of course, some may have allergy issues with any part of ejuice, particularly flavors. Other than that... nada. Oh, vaping is quite harmful to the state budgets of those states who counted their chickens before they hatched and sold bonds against future MSA income.

Otherwise... nada.

No one knows what the long term risks of vaping are (if any). Not really any studies at all over 5 years old and they are in other countries. One does not get cancer from smoking cigs in 5 years.....
I have no real idea so far, but am convinced that it is safer than smoking. I could be wrong though, I have been wrong a time or two :)

There are some legitimate concerns with vaping:

1. Product Quality:
You want to be confident in your e-juice source. Don't just buy some random flavor and get VG at walmart. You have no idea what you are inhaling.

2. Things that are known to be bad still are:
Flavors like mint, cinnamon and cloves are often harmful to your lungs when in tobacco, this is still the case with vapor. The reason they are bad when in tobacco is that they cause intense lung agitation, and they were never traditionally smoked.

3. Look for "pure" products:
Products that are made from organic ingredients, organic fiber wicks, and trusted sources mean reduced risk of contaminants. Keep in mind with cigarettes the cancer causing agents are not the nicotine, it's all the other stuff. If you can be reasonably sure the product doesn't have roundup and other pesticides (they still use agent orange around the world) then you are greatly reducing the risk of contaminants.

Actually, using organic ingredients in your vape can cause a lot of problems; primarily, it can gunk your wicks and coils something awful. Also, just the fact that something is organic is no guarantee of anything -- you can get cyanide from apple seeds and apricot pits; the active ingredient digitalis, a valuable heart medicine, can be found in fatal dosage in foxgloves, and let's not even get into deadly nightshade and belladonna. Mother Nature doesn't have an FDA, and puts in the bad with the good; with things created in a lab, the bad stuff is purposely left out.

PG can cause your toes to hurt if you drop a gallon jar of it on them.

That made me grin :D

slipbreed I've been vaping for almost 7 years & have had no adverse effects - in fact the opposite, my health has improved (especially my breathing) drastically :)

I use organic cotton for wicks, and it's by far the best thing to use for wicks. For the base chemicals, what one needs to locate are those labelled "USP" -- they may or may not be organic, but they're good enough for pharmaceutical use.

I get my PG and VG from amazon, vendor Bulk Apothecary, brand-name "Nature's Oil"... both are USP grade, and the VG is kosher. Neither is expensive -- $3.95/16oz.

For nicotine, I buy from VapersTek, "Throat-Hit Nicotine", because a) I like throat hit, and b) it's the cheapest I've found. VapersTek also has a very very clean nicotine, none of the "peppery" taste (throat hit), but it's a lot more costly.

I use an organic flavor in my ADV, Inawera's Shisha Strawberry, and it causes a huge amount of gunking -- but it's so tasty, daily re-wicking is a small price to pay. I've also used non-organic flavors that were so clean -- no particulate matter -- a wick could last a couple weeks.

For the organic cotton for wicks, I use either Walgreen's Organic Cotton Balls, $2.95 for a bag of 80, or the expensive japanese organic cotton that someone PIF'ed me -- they both taste just fine for vaping; the japanese organic is easier and faster to use, but the organic cotton ball wicks last 2-3 times longer before they need replacing.

Also, some rare cases, some people are allergic to PG or VG.
But this usually is indicated by red puffiness in the skin but nothing life threatening that I've heard.

Or, not even allergy, but just sensitivity -- it's just as uncomfortable. I can't vape over 16% VG, or I can't breathe. So I stick to 84/16 and all's well. At one point I tried 90/10, but after about a week, the inside of my nose and sinuses and my throat were burned, cherry red, very painful. So, 84/16.

Yes, you're right. Wrong word. Sensitivity is a much better word.

So you have a sensitivity to BOTH PG and VG?

90/10 PG/VG would be even less VG then 84/16.

I'm currently using 50/50 and my sinuses are stuffed up like I have a cold or something. We recently hit a hot spell, it may be a ton of pollin in the air.
