If I want to sell my mods, I need to be listed as a supplier. I don't have a web site. But a bunch of people asked me to sell some of the models I've come up with. If it works out, sure, I'd love to do this for a living and start up a site. But for now, I may make 20 mods at a time. How would I accept payment, other then PayPal? Are there any other companies like PayPal out there without a huge set up fee? I want to make it easy for me and the buyer.
Please Help!
Thanks

If your not expecting to do a huge volume you might just want to go with money orders. It slows the process down but overall it's not a bad way to go. I am not a huge fan of paypal but I still deal with them every day. They are just the most trusted method at this point. Plus evil bay pretty much doesn't give you any other choice. My problem with them is that they protect the buyer but not the seller. If you end up dealing with jerk they can lock up the funds in your account just by putting in a claim and then it's up to you to prove that they got what you sent and that it works like you said it would. I make my living playing in bands and selling equipment most guitars on the bay. I have had at least a dozen people who have filed claims and refused to send back guitars and it can really be a pain when they tie up your money. In the end I have always gotten my guitar or money back but I have gotten guitars back in trashed condition, everything from swapping out pickups to broken truss rods.

Well good luck. Keep Rockin.

alertpay doesnt allow ecig sales and neither does google.

Your best bet if you want to get into this on a real basis is take credit cards and get a merchant account which will depoit into your personal checking or business account.

you can also check out amazon payment systems. thagbuilt is using them. I dont know what their policies are on ecigs however.

I've used Google checkout and had no problems ~ easy deal...so what new mod might we be seeing? I have an urge for something new...

You can use PayPal as long as the product won't contain nicotine, or have nicotine in it. So if you are selling parts it is OK but not for carts, liquid, or kits. Google checkout doesn't allow it except for certain customers. We use authorize.net which takes most major credit cards and accommodates small business.

Thanks much for your post, I didn't realize that Paypal wanted to maintain its ebay policy outside of ebay.

Paypal is rather expensive. For a business they charge around 2.5% of the sales. I have a paypal account and prefer to pay using this since it is so easy. You may want to check different companies out. Just google it.

I don't think money orders would work. I would not go to a store and purchase a money order just to order something. I have noticed some people use Amazon.

Great info guys... I've been using google so far, but I haven't started selling nicotine. *lol* Now that I have read all this, I am frantically searching for a new payment system that I can implement.

As far as merchant one and intuit... how easy is that to integrate into a www site? Do they have shopping cart software?

You may want to have a look at this:

As you say you don't have a website this might be a nice way for you to get pics out as well. I have dealt with hoog a few times and he runs a tight ship with excellent customer service.

MerchantOne.com is awsome. They approved me in one day and there was very little paper work required. Their fees are 2.19% plus $0.25 per transaction.

You can call Michell at 888-656-7321

Please let her know that Nathan at True Vapor sent you.

They even have an Iphone app so you can take payments anywhere.

I have been using MerchantOne.com for the past few weeks after getting the boot from Google. Today I got a call from the bank that is actually running the cards for my account. It seems that it is common practice for MerchantOne.com to setup it's accounts claiming 100% Face to face transactions to push the applications through and close the deal (I love the fact that they pay out $100.00 for getting new customers to sign up). The bank thinking that the electronic cigarette vendor is running a Kiosk, not a website takes the account. When the transactions start rolling in "Keyed" and not "Swiped" they take notice and give the customer (You) a call to verify that you are doing face to face sales and to ask why all the orders are being keyed. If your honest, your now looking for a new bank. If your not, well then your just not honest!

BBW MerchantOne.com may not be a great solution for e-cig e-merchants.
I am sure 900 people are cracking their knuckles getting ready to reply to this one, well do not bother. This is Just MY experience with MerchantOne.com and I would like to think is a-typical and not the norm for them. I would think that 100% of MerchantOne.com's other accounts are 100% legit but then again there was a reason we all had to find alternative payment solutions in the first place. Your Mileage May Very!
