Since I've started using genesis style atomizers I've always oxidized my ss wicks. Some people I've met say they never do because the wick last longer.

Is a longer lasting wick the only benefit?

Can I use an unoxidized wick with my provari? (have tried and seems like I can't)

I doubt that a Provari would let you "pulse oxidize" a SS wick. You would just get an E1 code.

One way or another a SS wick needs to be oxidized, otherwise you would just pop the resistance wire between the + terminal and where it first touches the wick. Maybe you would like a ceramic wick (I don't)

I've been using pre-rolled, lightly oxidized, stainless steel wicks for a few weeks now. I am able to pulse oxidize these wicks on my Provari.

The only wick that I have rolled myself I believe I over-oxidized, if that is possible. It may have just been the fact that it was my first and only attempt to roll one and wasn't that great, but I torched it a few times like I had seen in a couple of demo videos.
