For clarity, my definition of an ADV is one that I can vape for a full day without the urge to switch to another flavor. I can do that with lots of liquids now that I know what I like.
For me, perhaps a more useful distinction is between what I can reasonably afford to vape on a daily basis and what I can only reasonably afford to vape occasionally. Vaping some of my favorites would cost too much, so I reserve them for special occasions or when "necessary," so my general rule has become that 80% or more of what I vape will be DIY or as inexpensive as DIY (Lucky 7, for example) is for me. The savings let's me "splurge" for the other 20% or less.
I did get a big Zamplebox this month (a one time thing, and I might mention that I liked everything) though, because I'm turning 40 this Saturday, and I've allowed for the whole month to be the "good stuff." Today I've been vaping Boba's Bounty that has been steeping since this past August. Tomorrow I'm due to get 30ml of Betelgeuse from Nicoticket. It has been, and will continue to be, a good month, but I won't mind going back to mostly DIY and Lucky 7 next month.
