What can I expect from something that isn't an Ego?

So I started out with a kit of two egos I got at my B&M. The first ego battery has already run dry after about 3 weeks of use and i'm onto the second. I use a tank setup that they sold me, I don't really know the exact names of any of my stuff.
However, I don't like the concept of having to constantly buy new Egos when they keep dying, I'd like to get something a little mmore reliable. Something I can use for months and months and months without worrying so much about it's doom.

I know there are things like provaris and lavatubes. My question is, can I expect the level of reliability I desire from these kinds of things? Is it more practical to stick to egos? Also, I don't want to spend more than like $80 on a device. Any recommendations for when my second ego dies?

Thanks a bunch ahead of time guys. If there's a section of this forum where this question would be better please let me know.

You mean you try to charge them and they won't charge?

Do you know what type of ego battery you have. Some have a 5 click shut off and the battery might be shut off. What type of charger are you using?

Yeah i've troubleshooted the battery a bunch. It's definitely powered on when I try to use it, and I've tried to lift the center pin with no luck. It just doesn't fire. The light is on, but it doesn't fire.

You don't happen to have a voltage meter do you? They're pretty cheap and you could check your battery, your tank, even your charger with one.

Even the no-name ego type batteries I've bought usually have a two month warranty. I believe Joye has a 6 month warranty, I don't know if that's just through them or not. I have a Joye Twist that I got in June or July that's still going strong. I bought a couple knock-offs and they lasted about two months before the buttons broke.

Definitely they should last longer than 3 weeks. I'd take them back to the B&M store.

Alright, I'll give my B&M a call and see if they can do anything for me.
