popping sizzling is the sound of the juice being evaporated... quite normal it happens more often when the wick is sort of loose in the coil...
You're confusing two things, I think.
The crackling sound is perfectly normal, in fact it's the sound of an atty working well.
What the MVP's don't have is the rattlesnake sound, which comes from mods that run at very low-frequency PWM.

I'm vaping a nautilus BVC that is popping, spitting, crackling. It is one of the newer versions with larger wicking holes, I'm at around 10-11 watts. Hoping when I go to a fresh coil it solves the problem. At this point I fire for a few seconds before bringing to my lips to avoid getting hot juice spit at me.
Maybe the wattage isn't enough power for the coil and you're sucking up juice? I always run my coils at their preferred wattage, it should be inscribed on the actual Aspire coils. I would also try cleaning the entire tank under warm, running water and dry it out clean with the help of q-tips to reach the tight spots. Takes me about 20 minutes to clean my tanks before their ready to use immediately afterwards. Never wash/clean the coils unless you know the steps on how to do that, very important as you can ruin them with water. You're chimney is probably clogged with juice, causing gurgling and spitting, too.
the spitting the OP is talking about is like the popping spitting water will do when a drop of it hits hot oil....
I accidentally woke my wife this morning with the sound of my coils. I can't think of a way to keep the same vape quality and have them run quieter.
I was under the impression that was just the sound they made? cold liquid being rappidly heated = a lot of energy (heat/movement aka popping)

You can build and wick to minimize, but it's not really something to be fearful of.
When I put too much water in my VG-only juice I have sometimes the crackling sound.
Turned it up to 12 watts and turned off the burst mode, so far so good. Thanks for that tip, I was actually going down on the wattage thinking the coil was heating too hot.
Edit: Maybe not, time for a good cleaning...

I started this thread a week ago. I bought my son the Itaste in higher wattage, it came a few days ago. His unit crackles really loud, and he's bugged by it. It doesn't bother me really but his is really loud. We've tried different wattage, different tanks etc. it gives a good vape tho. Price-wise we really can't complain too much. It's not like we paid 150 bucks like a lot of those mods cost.
