Ok so I bought some new stuff and here's what I think.

Anyvape Davide Mini - Unfortunately, I don't really like it. Maybe it's just my unit but it has a funny rubber/plastic taste to it and the draw is sooo airy! I don't mind airy but its a little too much so and the vapor is kinda light and wispy unless I take a really long slow drag. I might try changing the coils and do an alcohol soak to see if that helps. It's a really nice looking unit though.

Vapeonly BCC Mini - The unit itself is kinda plasticy but I think it vapes quite well. The drip tip can be removed and replaced with your own, except it can be a little wobbly or come out really easily. The vapor feels very smooth to me and the draw is easy. Flavor is slightly muted but I've definitely had worse. It's not bad at all though, I would recommend it for those looking to try something else.

Vision Nano - This is a very small clearo (510 sized?) and does not hold much liquid, but I think the flavor comes through quite nice and it has not disappointed me so far. You cannot use your own drip tip with this but I actually really like this unit and might pick up a couple more in different colors. It's cute and attractive looking, I've used it to try out some new juices and I actually like that its small because the liquid runs out and I can try out a different juice. The draw is tighter than the other two but it still hits very smooth and gets that nice crackle/pop every now and then. Definitely recommend, only if you don't mind a smaller sized liquid capacity.

Aurora BFT - I really like this unit, I've tried both of the included coils/atomizer and they both hit very well. You can also use your own bottom fed atomizers. Flavor comes through nice and I haven't really had any problems with it. My only gripe is that it is rather large and adds some bulk and weight to your PV and you can occasionally get a gurgly hit if you squeeze too much liquid into the atty. It would be nice if they included extra bottles but hopefully they will be available soon, since if I mess up this bottle or lose it somehow, I don't think I'd be able to use the device.

I still really like the iClear 16s, I clean my coil once a week and have been using the same one for 2 months now and it still works pretty well. The Evods I have are kinda meh in my opinion, but I did try changing the coils for one of them and it hits a lot better. I still prefer other clearos though.

Many of the clearos being discussed seem to be Ego diameter, and the OP didn't say what battery he's using.
I haven't seen anyone (I skimmed) mention the ProTank MINI.
So I will:

I use ProTanks, ProTank Minis, EVOD's, and T3's.

And I gotta say, though I can't really explain why, the ProTank Mini's seem to be MORE TROUBLE-FREE than full sized ProTanks.
No wicking trouble, no leaking trouble, no "metal taste" trouble - these are all FIXABLE things with ProTanks - but the Minis seem great right out of the box.

So, especially if you're using an Ego anything, I'd highly recommend you pick up a PTMini.
There are actually 3 versions now
1 - all one piece, just replace coils
2v1 - theoretically replaceable glass
2v2 - replaceable glass, removable drip tip

I too am a i16 convert...The vapor and taste are much cleaner than a EVOD and the ease to Fill is a No brainer...Same thing with the Protank, but they do Look nice..
My question is how are the Aurora's? Can you put a 306 on that? and can anyone tell me who sells Long barrel 510 Attys...?
I would like to try th Bottom Feed option as I am in love with dripping, but do not like the Mess, I have gotten much better but drip shields are Hard to come by...

Call me crazy but I got some iClear16s from fasttech with my iTaste VV kit and IMHO they are bad. Not terrible (second far away from my favorite, the Vision Victory Tank), but the flavor is not the same.

The way I compare is I use an "old" bottle of RY4, the first I tasted when I got into this a few months ago, and there's definitely something fishy about the iClear16s, the flavor is affected definitely.

The Protank (v1 because FastTech is outta v2 ATM) is indeed too airy for me. A total letdown and I don't like it one bit.

I don't know what is it about the Victory Tank, the draw is so tight and smooth and warm and cool and so on so forth. I love it. Now I'm getting paranoid about having to rebuild the wick because the stock one might fail any time soon (good enough, i bought some DIY material on eBay, but are yet to learn how to rebuild).

As with all clearos I feel like the flavor is usually muted if you compare it to dripping. Some clearos just completely murder the flavor, even if the throat hit and vapor is there. With the iClear 16s, I've been mainly using it with menthol liquids (which is what I use the majority of the time) so flavor is not as important to me as the mentholly feel/hit of it. On the other hand, I feel like the Vision Nano does have superior flavor compared to other clearo type units I've tried, only thing is that it is quite small in size.

That looks very much like a rebranded iSmoka system...which lies in its constituent pieces in a box on my desk because the plasti-tank cracked within a day of use.

Tornados were the first tank I vaped on. I bought my first ego from this company. I also have possessed approximately 10 of these tanks, between me and Alukit. None of them have cracked. I don't use them as frequently because we've upgraded to glass. I've had little to no problems with these tanks, aside from mild flavor muting (in comparison to glass, but I am extremely picky). They are a good product, have a removable drip tip, and are easy to use. I went from noob to vaping in under five minutes. While I wouldn't say these are the best tanks out there, I can vouch for them and say they work well.

I can't recommend the Protank, unless you like your vape to taste like burnt motor oil. I've been through 2 and have had nothing but maddening problems with them regardless of stock heads rebuilt heads silica mesh cotton blah blah, you name it, I've tried it.

Interesting. We've owned 6 protanks (less now, gave a few away because VIF is a good thing!) and 10 Protank II's. I can't prove the first half, but here's a pic to prove that I'm not lying about gear.

gear

I've had minor issues with both PT1 and PT2. Nothing terrible, nothing dealbreaking. Overall, we've had nothing to say but good about Kanger products. Sucks that you had a bad experience, are your tanks legits or clones? We've ordered all of our tanks and attys through Kanger. For reference, we use them on both Egos and Provaris, sometimes on roommate's VV device (can't remember the product's name, it's been a long week).

To answer the original question, "best" is subjective to a degree. I have limited experience in comparison to many users on the forum here. I am more partial to my PT2, then the DBOX Puritank, but still enjoy my PT1's. I've tried an iClear and it was alright. I'm more partial to glass, personally, so I'm biased.

quick summary of my thoughts:

Protank 1 can be airy at stock. Tweak it and you can possibly tighten up the draw, but it is not tight at stock. I dislike that the top is not removable, as it makes cleaning a little more tedious. They are durable, but don't chuck em against a wall. I've dropped one from 6 feet onto pavement and was lucky that it didn't shatter. If you don't like the design of the mouthpiece, you're boned. If you don't care about removable drip tips, disregard. They CAN and DO flood. I haven't had much issues with this, make sure you don't let your tanks get too low.

Protank 2 is a tighter draw and puts off a better hit than its father. You can field strip this bad boy in seconds and have it cleaned out and ready to dry a lot faster than the PT1. Removable drip tip is a plus; I swapped it for the DBox Puritank's bazooka tip because I like the feel more. If you break the glass part, you're not boned; Kanger sells replacement parts for everything.

Puritank appeals to me because of the larger capacity. It may seem bulky to some, or awkward on an ego. I don't. Unlike the PT2, though, it's not able to be taken fully apart. Other users have reported issues with the glue coming off. I have not experienced so I cannot comment. I personally feel as if this has an airy-er draw than the PT2.

And for the heck of it, here's a side by side of the four things I just talked about (minus the iClear)

I just ordered a Vision Aurora BFT.

It's supposed to provide the flavor you get from dripping, without the hassle. Simply give the included bottle a slight squeeze whenever your atty starts to taste like the flavor is disappearing, and you're good to vap somemore! Reasonably priced at under $30, you can view some reviews on YouTube!

Can be used with any Ego device, or, with an Ego to 510 adaptor, pretty much any variable voltage device of your preference!

Can't wait to get mine and give it a try!

Seems like an excellent option from clearo's....

Okay, this looks pretty incredible. Onto the wishlist it goes!

Ok thanks.
I'll try and get ahold of the Nano.
I personally like huge-capacity tanks but that's at home, for my almost-all-day vape (outside home) I take the compromise of a not so big unit.

I've been on the same quest. So far I've used an MT3 (can't get it to stop giving me mout hits. Thought I had fixed it by using protank attys instead of the ones that came with it, and then again today it totally leaked on my way to work so I think it finally has to go in the trash), Protank Mini (really pretty decent - mine came already unglued but fixed it with silicone - I find the draw IS too airy), CE4 (not bad, but plastic flavour as it gets close to empty which means 0.5 ml left which is kinda crap considering it holds 1.6) and Mini Nova. So far I find the Mini Nova far and away my favorite. Never had the slightest leak or issue, taste is a bit muted but not bad, throat hit is pretty non existent, lots of vapor. So basically, it works and that is good enough for me so far.

I have an Iclear 16 and an Evod on the way. Will probably end up sticking with a rotation of Vision mini nova and Protank mini, but will undoubtedly keep buying everything I see to see if anything can best them.

Imma try the Vision mini when I can get a hold of it.
You should try the Vision VT, my fav so far (I mentioned it earlier). If I only I could get it easily now.
