So I tried vaping some of my favorites today, but for some reason I couldn't taste a thing. I guess I have some kind of taste bud fatigue. Is there any quick fix to this? In the meantime, what should I do? I can hit the menthol's and still taste them, but is this going to kill my tastebuds even more?

I switch flavors... Or take an extended break. Drink a glass of ice water... Pretty much it. We all go through it though.
I went through it at about the same time in my vaping career. It lasted two weeks or more. I hope it lasts less time for you. I tried every trick on this site and nothing worked. Then, one day, I loaded up my Nova before work and took a big long pull expecting no flavor and I about fell over. I could taste watermelon. So I tried another flavor and the taste was back.
I believe the only real fix for this is time. You spent a lot of time destroying your taste buds with smoking, as did all of us. It will not be a quick fix.

Well I have TERRIBLE taste buds. I loose them at least once a week (really don't know where they go)
What works for me.... I keep one of these
next to my couch. I just touch the tip to my tongue and swirl it around. Immediate fix for me.

When this happened to me, I followed advice from this forum: Drink lots of water, switch to another flavor, brush your teeth (and tongue) and take it easy on the chain vape. Rest assured it will return, prolly within a day or two like mine did. Most importantly, don't go back to analogs. Your mouth will heal itself. I think of it like my taste buds are molting.
I did hear some advice from wine tasters that have been using this technique for ages, they said to smell some fresh coffee grounds. Didn't help me much, but anything is worth a shot when you need to taste that vape.
I forgot about this. Mac, one of the registered suppliers here, suggested this in another thread at about the same time I was having issues. I tried it and it worked for a day or so. Thanks for reminding me about the magic of lime juice.

i havent had tb's for about 6mths. i dont let it get me down, i just use unflavored, strong licorice, and cinnamon now(cause thats all i can taste) LOL

Try to swish with it. Sometimes you need to overload your taste buds to get them back. A small drip or two on my tongue did not work for me but a full on garggling with it did work.
Did you use the big bottle? or the small lime looking one. I know this sounds silly and its probably just in my head but the big bottle doesnt work for me lol. Just the small lime looking ones.

Nope. Didn't really work for me. I got a little bit of taste back, but mostly no.
It does something. I'm getting tastes that I never tasted before. I have a 555 that I really loved. But I never really tasted the peanut in it. But now that's all I taste. Taste buds are weird things!
BTW, I went to a restaurant today, and ordered a steak. OMG! First time I had one since I quit smoking. It was like pure heaven! Maybe that killed my taste buds. Awesomeness overload.

This happens somewhat regularly to me and to most vapers. I will maybe try the lime, but my fix........I vape a STRONG minty juice for an hour or so. Vapedudes ice ice is my personal favorite. Very strong icy pepperminty juice, but sweet also. Kicks the tasterbuddies right back into shape. Not sure what folks do who vape menthol or mint all the time.

I have to admit, my gf and I are sitting here talking about this post and I said to her how there are lots of posts online about sucking on the drip tip like your taking a drink of soda through a straw. Odd enough when I use my HH 357 which is geared towards short hard vapes, when I use that technique on my vivi nova I get hardly any taste. When I take a nice slow 3-4 second vape, I get tons of flavor. BTW vaping crispy bacon right now from JucyVaper and its FABULOUS!

You are the FIRST person I've heard say anything nice about bacon juice!! Not only does no one like it (that I've been able to find) but they all say avoid it like your life depended on it! And you'll have to toss whatever juice holder you use cuz it'll never come out. They just can't say enough bad things about bacon juice. But you really like the one from juicy vapor??
LOL I can imagine a lot would not like it. Yes... I have noticed that I have a sepearate head for my vivi nova specifically for it. But my god, to me... Its great. Now my gf likes bacon, but doesn't like it crispy, she likes it i guess just cooked enough to eat safely. But to me the crispy bacon, tastes just like it. It does take some time to get used to. When I first vaped it, it was weird because I had just cleaned my tank so I was getting that really muted, steamy vape. But after about 10 mins, the flavor really came out, it has a smokey, really crispy bacon with a little saltiness to it.
lol now by no means am I saying go and try some, I dont want the flack when you ruin your shirt and then throw you pv through the wall. But for me, could totally be an all day vape

lol I've still been tempted to try it even with all the beyond just negative feed back about it. Might just have to do it some day. If I hate it, at least now I know who I can pif it to! lol
