This one raised quite the thread of conversation on another platform. was good to see people really say what is on their minds.
Same as it’s always been. BS from BT.
I'm amazed at what is being put out there, the seizure thing?! really?!Same as it’s always been. BS from BT.
They’ve got giant piles of money, marketers and scientists with near zero ethics levels, and a genuine lack of interest in how many people they kill in search of profit. And they can hire just about anyone. Even people who hate them. They just hide behind something else and funnel the money through it.
They want to kill vaping. They tried for years and only partially succeeded. Then they tried making their own products and fell down flat on their faces because they don’t know how to make stuff. All they know how to do is lie (which admittedly they are immensely good at) Now that they’ve bought up enough vaping companies at the depressed values they created, they’re saying “OK we’ll allow vaping, but only if we own basically ALL of it” and they still don’t care who dies.
They’re scary as heck.
Which thing is that? Only seizure I know about is the JUUL document seizure. May or may not have been part of that class action lawsuit about JUUL being as or more addictive than cigarettes. Lawsuit was won by JUUL but I still have no data myself about how or why. Getting the actual ruling has been an issue for me. Could have been a meritless case, but it also could have been thrown out on a technicality in which case it means nothing as far as actual fact goes.I'm amazed at what is being put out there, the seizure thing?! really?!
Yep. That’s marketing. It’s also how that “beep” puppet commercial works. People generally only watch a commercial for a few seconds before they identify it as a commercial and leave.I was reading an article about the FDA suggesting the e-cigarettes caused seizures. Then later in the article said that there was no proof that they were caused by vaping, only that the people who had seizures were vapers. This article of course did not state that until well within the latter part of context, so of course people read the headline and leave the rest for interpretation.

This is the kind of thing private science does a lot of. They have methodologies for timing it perfectly. And they use them. As a result a commercial is actually only a few seconds long. The “beep” commercial loads “vaping is worse than cigarettes” in the first few seconds, then takes it back later when no one is looking. Legally true. Effectively a flat out lie.
I have epilepsy. I have seizures. I vape. I've been having seizures a lot longer than I have been vaping. Besides, them trying to get everybody concerned about 35 or so seizures reported in 10 years? The same 10 year period when very close to the same number of seizures were reported by people using FDA approved nic patches or gum or whatever, and not vaping? I was very angry when I read the article.I'm amazed at what is being put out there, the seizure thing?! really?!
I am sorry that you have to fight that battle. But what you said is exactly what i was thinking. WOW, all i can sayI have epilepsy. I have seizures. I vape.
