I keep seeing the E2 R4 cartos with an extra rubber ring, that my supposed R4's don't have, so is it the R3's that don't have this extra rubber ring? I have the rubber tip and a silicone cap over the reservoir with the two small fill holes. I have been seeing pictures of the R4 version that have an extra rubber cap on top of the filler cap. Does the 510 R4 have this extra rubber ring? Just curious because mine leak like crazy.

Thanks for any help

I've had both packs sold as R3's and R4's and both types had 3 caps (the silicone over the reservoir with two holes for filling, a clear inner sealing ring, and the soft white cap).

The R4's came with 5 pieces of cartridge filler material loose in the box, which the R3's didn't have. I haven't used it, but I guess it's there if you want to mod them?

Thats what I thought, a vendor I got mine from is unloading their old stock of R3s advertising them as R4s. Once is a mistake, twice is a scam. I can cross them off my list. Thanks for your reply

I wouldn't blame the vendor (retailer). I believe they're buying in good faith. Microcig, the maker, is apparently incapable of "eating" their deadstock when they make an improvement or alteration, and they push it out to the retailers and we end up with the stuff.

Also, FWIW - R4's have been distributed in both the 2 ring & 3 ring configurations. No apparent rhyme or reason - luck of the draw. The 2 ring configuration has a deeper mouthpiece ring that when seated against the filler ring performs the same function as the intermediate ring, which is sealing off the filler holes from the draw action. If your filler rings haven't been messed with, they shouldn't be leaking. Thin juices can follow the wicks thru the cup slits and into the airstem when the carto isn't upright... maybe that's the source of your leakage.

The filler material in the package is there in case you want to use it to assist with the wicking and/or place it at the slits to control seepage. It wasn't included in my last order directly from Microcig.

Yeah, It might not be the vendor, I know they don't want to lose any business. It just disheartening when they don't work like they're advertised. I guess they are R4's because they came with the extra filler. They just leak pretty bad and I keep getting juice in the mouth. I'm trying to be careful not to draw too hard or for too long.:( I guess thats why all the vaper veterans end up just dripping because they have all gone through all of this. Just haven't found my happy place with all of this vaping stuff enough to quit smoking analogs. And I don't want to drip or dip or whatever. I guess vaping isn't for everybody
Going to try genuine Joye 510 cartos next, heres hoping.

I just got some of these and I'm actually quite happy with them. They're the 3.0ohm, 2 ring configuration and didn't come with the filler material. The only time I've had a problem with leaking was when I accidentally overfilled one, but that was easily fixed by pulling out some juice with the syringe. I can be somewhat of a chain vaper and they seem to wick just fine for me. I'm getting nice, warm clouds of vapor and lots of flavor!

I love the pure flavor of the juice from them, I have problems with the inconsistent wicking of the juice. But the juice keeps migrating out of the filler holes and where the wick goes into the reservoir. Its not constant, but it keeps happening, maybe the XL's are better, haven't read too many issues about those, as much as the regular ones. Also the filler material they give you maybe the answer to the wicking and leaking problems I've read about and been having.

Will just keep plugging away at it until I find my niche.
