You know what, after I mentioned Toasted Almond I got it out to try some, and I'd say definitely give that a hit with your nice reds. I'm rocking DIY with Perfumers/Flavor Apprentice at 15%, but it's available as readymade from many places, and definitely worth trying with a full-bodied red. If the flavor does come on too strong, cut with some plain PG/VG... and you can also experiment and add a drop or two of anything that strikes your fancy -- chocolate, raspberry, orange, peach or whatever for very subtle flavor layering.
