I went to take off my kayfun lite clone from EHpro from the stingray I have, to re-fill it, and I can't unscrew the the kayfun from the stingray. What would cause this?

Never had this happen before - it isn't because it is too tight, in fact, it is loose, but I can only turn it about 1/4 of the way, and it won't go any further.

I'm thinking maybe the airflow screw in the kayfun came lose, and is preventing a full turn on the sting ray?

I have no idea what to do

Wow....I finally got it off, and I nearly broke my kayfun and stingray in the process. I actually broke a flathead screwdriver trying to pry it apart.

I found the culprit. The airflow screw on the kayfun got stuck in the liquid resevoir or whatever u call it, on the stingray top cap.

THe crazy thing is, the airflow screw is ALMOST flush with the kayfun, it isn't like i had it sticking out or anything.

That SUCKED.

This isn't the first time it has happened, and probably wont be the last. Someone posted with the same problem last week and I don't know if they ever got it unscrewed.

It may be worth your time to try breaking the sharp corners on the mod and airflow screw. It should be pretty easy using a file on the screw, but it might be a little tricky on the mod cap since you wont want to accidentally scratch it anywhere. At least the surface between the mod and atty is rarely seen, so a scratch here or there isn't the end of the world. Hopefully getting it apart when it was stuck didn't already do too much damage.

I almost had the same issue. I could feel the air flow control screw just catch one of the grooves in the top of my Magneto but it wasn't so far as to lock it in place.. When I got it off the screw was just barely past the bottom of the tank. I used Teflon tape to tighten the threading and haven't had a problem since.
Here's wishing you luck.
