I am really confused here. My daughter has a Kanger Protank 3.

She had complained to me that she didn't like the fact that the Protank 3 does not have an adjustable airflow, so I ordered a Kanger adjustable airflow base unit (airflow control valve) for her, and had it sent to her in Arizona.

Link to the airflow valve I ordered for her Protank 3: Kangertech Airflow Control Valve

To me, this would be an easy replacement ... unscrew the original base piece and replace it with the new adjustable base piece.
Here is what it is supposed to look like:

Now I get an email from her saying that the new adjustable airflow valve is leaking juice all over and juice is getting up inside the tube.

Here are the photos she sent me ..... What in the world has she done? .... this don't look at all right

In fact, this don't even look like the airflow control valve that I ordered for her.

she has a mini airflow on a normal Protank. I don't think they are compatible. I have one on mine and it works like a champ. ( I tried to attach a picture, but it came out as a bunch of text) do a websearch for adjustable protank airflow you will see the ones for the full protank's not the mini... you can usually find them for 5-7 bucks at most Brick and Mortar shops.

Also, when she gets the correct AFC she will not need to use the original base on it. The AFC is the new base and will connect direct to the battery.
Another thing - I recommend using the cone that comes with the protanks - it gives support between the battery and tank. Without the cone there is an increased risk of damaging the connection and threads.

btw...
That mini base will work on the full size protanks. It does look a little strange being the smaller diameter, but the threads fit the tank and it will work just fine. She just needs to unscrew that stock protank 510 base piece she has that minipro base screwed onto in the picture. Then attach it to the battery like any ego type device. It will hold the coil inside the regular size protanks exactly in the right place and allow her to vape right now. In either case that first part she has screwed on her battery is no longer needed.

hth

I've used this kind of arrangement on protanks attached to an mvp2 that had stripped 510 connector. The only real difference is the mini base attaches to the ego threads instead of the 510 threads.
