If all things "E" were legalized and a Vapers-Mart opened across from Starbucks ..what would change? Would we pay through the ear for juice? Would there be more regulation on how much Nic we could buy? Would mods be allowed? What would happen to our favorite suppliers?
Sometimes I wonder if what we wish for is what we want!

To tell you the truth I would like to be able to grab one locally in an emergency, but all I really want is for the govt. to stick their heads back where they were and stay out of this...

I'm sure we would see some price changes -- but the online suppliers don't have the storefront overhead. As long as the online suppliers are able to get the product to the consumer, I think they would be okay. That's assuming that any "regulations" that would permit a brick-and-mortar "Vaper-Mart" to sell e-cigs & accessories, would also permit the online retailer to exist.

Maybe this is a stupid wuestion but Isn't it still legal to sell e-cigs here in the US? Why aren't there e-cigs sold at stores?

I am sure they are sold in shops like gas stations and smoke shops but who would open a store dedicated to e-cigs and liquid until there is a some decision made but FDA and Government in general. The kiosks that sell them in the malls are easy enough to close, but a storefront?

If there was a local shop/storefront opened up locally. I'd visit on paydays. I would much rather walk in and talk face to face. I'm a hand shake kind of guy, old school.

A few NC vapors are about to create an on site storefront in Raleigh NC.
We believe exactly as you do, that eye to eye, hand shake and chatter are how good business is done. We have secured the space and the management of the location have approved it only after they read an article in a local NC newspaper, We expect to be open for business by end of July. We will keep you all posted has to the reaction and the flow of business. Until now, the entire ecig world has either been online or in kiosks, that have been run by a certain ecig company that has not been completely upfront w/ their customer base, we plan on changing that very soon

wish us all great success

The edit is regarding the kiosks companies, I was NOT suggesting that any online companies are anything but upfront and totally honest

Wow, I had just started thinking about this a few hours ago, and you guys have been sitting here talking about it at the same time! Freaky...

Anyway, the reason I was thinking about it is my wife told me she saw a kiosk in the mall (Mary, that would be Brandon mall). And I was thinking that kiosks are kind of shady, and it would be nice to have a real store selling ... um ... good devices, and good juice, instead of what you find in the kiosks. And at the prices we are all used to.

I'm sure we'd all be interested in hearing how the store in NC goes. Maybe in the meantime, some of us FL vapers should band together and start thinking about doing the same thing.

I too would like to be able to run out to a local store, but only if it were staffed by the same friendly folks I am used to online.

Also, I kind of like getting the packages in the mail. It sucks to wait for them, but is awesome when they get here!!!

I don't see why more tobacco shops or hookah bars don't carry them. However much I am afraid of the price changes and other stuff that comes with having these sold locally, I think ultimately it might be the only way for the mainstream publicity and legitimacy.

Lots to think about on this topic. good thread!

It probably would not affect me much at all. If you factor out groceries, 90% of my purchases are made online anyway.

I also think the prices would be much higher due to maintaining a B&M location, with mortgage or rent, taxes, etc..........the prices alone would probably send you scurrying back to the internet for your purchases anyway.

That's a good point. But if we took Vicks Vapor Bar a step further and acually had a BAR, the margins from alcohol could help offset the additional expenses. I'm sure there are some other creative ways to keep the price of vaping supplies down.

On the other hand, maybe we are now discovering why those kiosk prices are so high...

the bar idea rocks. Put some hockey on the tube, give me a micro brew (or a Guinness) and it'd be like old times. I actually enjoyed a vape, a beer, and some NHL highlights at a local bar after my adult league hockey game last night. The fellas all told me to go back to real cigs (after years of .....ing about me smoking). I think they just must like me better when I'm outside....hmmm maybe these guys don't like....nah!
