Some juices, like menthol, seem to leave coils and wicks clean. Others quickly leave a huge buildup of black stuff.
I've just redone a coil that I'd been using for a whole week with eucalyptus and bitter fruit flavors, that has been ruined in a day and a half of vaping exclusively hazelnut. The buildup was so important that the coil was basically encased in a crust of thick black crud that I couldn't dry-burn away, or even chip away without ruining the coil.
Anybody knows what particular chemicals in the flavorings creates that black junk? I have a feeling sugar at least might be responsible, as sweet fruits, chocolate or cake flavors seem to do it more than non-sweet juices. But the worst in my experience are nutty flavors, despite not being particularly sweet, so I assume other chemicals do it too. Also, it would seem the fouling occurs pretty much always with the same kinds of flavors, regardless of juice brands.
