Hey all, kind of embarrased asking this question as I'm sure it should be obvious, but, I've heard this term floating around and although I've done a bit of research, I can't come to a solid conclusion?

What is a bottom feeding mod? Basically, how is it different than a "regular"(maybe now I have to question what is regular?) mod and what are the advantages/disadvantages?

Thanks in advance for the replies!

Most 'bottom feeders' are bottle fed from the bottom either to an atomizer or cartomizer sat on top of the device, Most "usual" - if you like - devices will use a tank on the top and some method of wicking the juice in the tank to the atomizer - whether that's silica wick or cotton or even stainless steel mesh.

Most cartomizers cannot be rebuilt as far as i know and so when the coils burn out (the price you pay to vape i'm afraid..) then you have to buy new ones. But a lot of atomizers CAN be and so you have a whole host of people now making their own coils for these things and very cheap it is too.

Some people will tell you that a bottom feeder gives a better vape etc, but i have personally never had a problem with cheap tanks like the Vivi Novas. What tanks and bottom feeders both give you however, is the capacity to hold enough liquid to vape all day so you carry less spares around with you. Tanks systems will also in my experience tend to change colour and get a bit bitter and sludgy as you near the juice at the bottom of it - because it has been heated and reheated etc. This does not happen with a bottom fed mod.
