what is causing my tank cartomizer to flood like this?

ok i have a lavatube v2.5 with the 7ml tube tank from volcanoecigs.com and the first cartomizer i had did not flood. the second one worked great for like 2 weeks and then started to flood quite a bit. so i changed it and the next one worked for a week and started flooding the one i just put on there 4 days ago is flooding again and here is a pic of where it is leaking the liquid to. also i don't drag too hard and it seems to leak if it is just sitting up right on my desk. i think it is leaking out of the air holes on the side of the threads on the cartomizer as opposed to the bottom hole but here is a pic of where it is leaving liquid at. any help on this.

also i have emailed volcanoecigs and waiting to see if they offer any help with this. its odd that it also leaks without me even using it.

I can't speak to the particular carto tank you are using but it's rare that I use a carto in a tank for more than a week without changing it due to performance degradation. If you get 2 weeks out of one that is outstanding life from my experience. They were never meant to last forever.

there is the main hole on the bottom and 2 small air holes on the sides of the threads and the e-liquid is 80/20 PG/VG mix.

I had the inferno kit. Works great when it works but it leaks like a sieve. It's been suttin in my car wrapped in a paper towel for a month untouched. Even the old cigalike I had from them a year or two ago leaked like crazy.

That's the one I meant for. One hole should not cause flooding. Even with high PG. Are you adding eliquid to the carto up top?

Some people notice the dryness of the top of a carto and errantly add fluid.

It's not leaking from around the tank area and dripping down?

no i add into the tank directly.

well i think i am but i thought no liquid was supposed to end up on the battery post i am referring to the liquid i posted in the first pic of this thread but i am not sure if that's common or not. i would think it's not supposed to be there but its over my head.

That's something I regularly see on the pin of my Provari when I use my tank, but I don't worry about it. It doesn't leak out and onto my hands and the pin is sealed. I simply give it a little rub with an alcohol soaked Q-Tip and screw back on. I would certainly expect to see this after filling. You're sliding the tank up and exposing part of the cartomizer that was in the tank, and also the holes that are there to wick juice. Pushing the tank back down will skim a trace amount to the bottom. Nothing to worry about

That small amount on the post happens with just about any topper. For me, it's most common right after I start a new carto/refill, then it slowly abates. Just stuff a tissue in there and clean it out.

The flooding issue that many talk about is generally accompanied with Gurgling- sometimes frequent.

well it dosen't happen right after filling the tank is damn near empty right now and it still leaks. also i get a little gurgling when i inhale normally due to the liquid on the post.

Double/triple check your o-rings! Over 95% of my 'leaking' issues have been due to just that issue.

Do be aware that a lil' liquid on da batt post is common due to condensation.

I'll second Iffy, post. If the orings in the tank don't seal right it allows air into the tank causing flooding and the leak your seeing.

I've been using my 3 IBTanked tanks religiously for the past 2 weeks, and I thought I was doing something wrong too when I'd see a drop in the 510 connection of my ProVari... I just chalked it up to the nature of the beast. I carry Q-Tips in my zip case, so I just dab it out.

Don't worry about it. It just happens!
Now if half the tank is in your connector then you've got problems!

not sure what you mean by automatic battery its a lavatube v2.5 but i have checked the orings they are fine i clean the tank on a regular basis. but here are some more pics.

It's pretty normal IMHO. When the tank gets low the pressure inside changes and it will get a bit more leaky. When I use carto tanks I clean them often with a qtip or paper towel. I get anywhere from 2 days to maybe 10 on the average carto (depends on thickness of juice) on the average.

Really like the look of your tank by the way, nice. the holes on your carto look big to me as well. Perhaps since you use 80/20 pg/vg maybe go for a smaller laser punch hole. Nothing to really worry about though.
