So I took the head off the Protank, put it back in the bottom plate, and screwed it back on the battery without the tank; I made sure the wick was juiced. I press the fire button, and as soon as I do, the coil makes a popping sound and causes the wick to form splintering sections. It does this every time I push it for 5 more times. Why I'm doing this is because THIS is what my heads do when attatched to the full tank set-up. My coils are constantly popping and causing my juice to taste awful. Is the battery overpowering the coils? The wick looked super-moist while this test was going on, I don't think it's a wicking problem.

What device are you using? That's not normal behavior.

Are they purchased coils or did you wrap them yourself? If they are from a vendor, are they regular Kanger heads or some generic "equivalent"?
Goody good point. Very possible... however, as it's silica string, I can visualize flavor wicks "popping apart".

Might I suggest loosing the silica flavor wicks and replacing them with a single cotton twist... just make sure it stays wet.

What you're seeing and hearing is an effect very similar to dropping a drop of water onto a hot frying pan. That pop and sizzle is the liquid being vaporized by the heat of the coil. I get it all the time off of everything from a Vamo with a ProTank of T3 at six or seven watts to a 78mm auto with a CE3. Nothing abnormal or strange about it. If you're getting micro droplets up the air tube and into your mouth, it might not taste very good though. Try upping the voltage a little at a time and see if it goes away.

The wicks aren't really popping apart, just forming small little fuzzy sections (tiny, very small) between the coil sections. It's very small fuzziness, but you can see it pop up instantly every time the coil pops. And then it'll smoke or something.
Ah. Sorry, but in all fairness, I do not believe your problem is an actual problem.

Well, every time my coil pops when I'm vaping, it'll taste god awful, like a burning fire. When it rarely doesn't pop, it'll maybe taste like burning wicks mixed with cotton candy. Ain't nobody got time for that. And also, the thing about a frying pan, is a frying pan will produce vapor at a variety of temperature ranges; with vaping, I'd think the goal is for the coils to be heated at the lowest temperature possible for actual vaporization to occur so that the coils, which are tiny little wires, and the wicks, don't literally burn like the would in an extremely hot frying pan. My coils get red in literally two seconds too. I would think that at 3.3, that 2.5 heads would take quite a few seconds to do that.

No, it doesn't take seconds for a coil to get hot enough to sizzle. They usually get that hot in well under a second. If your coil is getting red hot in a few seconds it is an indicator of not enough liquid getting to the coil. The vaporing liquid actually cools the coil. You don't want the coil getting red hot while vaping, but try to remember that a lot of folks are vaping at well over six or seven watts and to do that they are heating beyond that initial vaporization point, but still not to the point of burning.

Have you checked your battery with another type of delivery system? It is possible that the regulator in the battery is kaput and running "wide open". If you have a DVM or multimeter your could check the output voltage, preferably under load.

If your coils get RED in the tank you are in serious trouble!
Coils heat Liquid Vaporizes replacement e-liquid flows in and cools coils - rinse repeat.
Coils should NEVER glow if sufficiently wet.
Popping should be minimal if sufficiently wet.

Simplest solutions are :
Try another coil
Try another Battery
Try making wick thickness adjustments to correct

Nah, I don't have any of those things - I went to Sears last night and they didn't either :/. Would Walmart's auto-shop possibly have anything like that that they'd let me test it out real quick?

And in my opinion, I think dry hits should be something that only happens every now and then at most. With my Protank, I've tried diuting and dripping and blowing and sucking and letting it sit there for hours (even overnight) and just nothing but it sounding like I'm making popcorn and tasting like I overcooked it.
