Is there a practical replacement for Evod/Protank flavor wicks?

Have you tried using 2mm silica wick for the flavor wicks? I'm wondering if there is a big difference. I'm using 2mm silica for the coils and 2mm silica for the flavor wick too.

Haven't tried 2mm for both. Especially since the existing setup is working rather well. I am tempted, however, to try some 3mm silica for a wick and fore go the flavor wick just to see what happens.

Mine worked as well however I found the taste to be off even after boiling.

I have found that the taste your talking about will fade away in a while. I use cotton food grade twine that I boiled three times and can still taste it for a while after rewicking. I am trying some bamboo crochet yarn that I got at Walmart now. It seems to break in much faster as far as that taste goes.
