Both my Ego 650 mah batteries have died within a couple of days of each other. They are both only around five weeks old. Now I'm going to have to go and buy the first pack of smokes in over a month until I can order some new batteries from someone. And couldn't happen at a worse time with holidays coming up affecting the postal system delivery. Anyway ... here's what has happened. They both were working perfectly (they are the passthru kind) then, after topping up a SmokeTec xxxl Dual Coil Clearomizer, out of the blue, each of these batteries would blink 3 times and then ... nothing. Nada. Even when I put them on the passthru (thinking maybe they just needed a charge), nothing. They are obviously dead but ... why???? Is it just the Ego battery (they are the Joye ones)?

Another possibility that has been brought to my attention has to do with wireless technology and possible interference causing battery failure. I vape at work and my ecigs lay on my desk beside my wireless headset setup. This is a Plantronics set and quite expensive. Does anyone think that the emissions from this wireless headset could have, over time, caused battery failure? Because I'm thinking that if this could be the cause ... I'm unplugging the damn thing and going back to a regular handset! Anyway, just thought I'd throw that out there as well just in case it twigs with someone. Anyone else had any problems with any kind of wireless technology messing up their batteries?

I have had similar issues with egos, all of mine are dead and gone, and they died way too soon. I am down to my last emergency battery and with my track record don't have high hopes for that one. I would love to know if you find any answers to this quandry, I truly do not want to continue to kill batts at this alarming rate, I am very, very poor and simply can't do it , if I am doing something to cause this I would really like to quit!

I find it very odd that 2 batteries would die at the same time...borderline impossible even.

Mind you, those types (any types, any brands really) are good for about 300 charges (not 300 days) depending on how much you use them, they might just have reached their normal working life.

Hard to say really.

Does your work use those security pass card things that you got to scan to get in or out of the building? Those things are pretty powerful and I know from experience keeping those by my cell phone would kill them and reduce the overall life span of my battery, and it drastically reduced the life span of one of my regular 510 batteries. I do not keep my keycard anywhere near anything that I have that contains a small battery now. I leave it in my car overnight now or carry it in the opposing pocket and haven't had any problems.

I agree that the odds of this happening are unbelievable which is why I was curious about it. We have no security card readers or anything ... just that wireless headset. After reading some info on the specs, it doesn't seem likely but it has to be either that or those clearomizers and my vendor is extremely confident that the Ego 650 mah could handle those. Ah well ... have another 1000 mah battery on the way. Only have to smoke the cancer sticks for two days ... yuck ...

Vendors sell stuff and buyers buy stuff. A DC cartomiser on an eGo battery is a no go, especially on a 650, you probably fried the mosfet because of the current draw. BTW a 1000mAh may not be suitable either.

Bingo!

Dual coil cartos will burn up ego batteries like crazy.

I haven't had any trouble with e-go's, mine was with Riva's, that's why I am switching to mods. You can take out their batteries, charge them while you put a fresh one in and they are much cheaper to replace than the e-go batts that come in one peice! I got the go-go and one from Madvapes and when I need to replace and e-go that I already have I will get another mod. They come in all sizes and colors now so you can pretty much get the type that you want!

Thanks for the responses everyone. The DC cartos were 1.5 ohm ones so ... the general consensus seems to be pointing to them. I have some Kanger Horizontal Coil cartos coming (I was major impressed with the sample one I got) and they are 2.0 ohm so will stick with those over the holidays just to be safe (even on the 1000 mah).

Ah,I see...I got a DC XL LED clearomizer (2.2-2.4 ohms) here that plain refused to work on my ego VV at 3.2 (blue ring flashed),but as soon as I got the VV at 4.2,awesome vape.

Also got an extremevision XL DC LED that is 2.8-3.0 ohms that fired right away on low setting.

That variable voltage thing is da bomb.

Doesn't that depend on the resistance of the Carto? I've been running 2.0 oHm on both 650 and 1000 mAh for months now.
