I am in two Coops 1 for a Zmax and one for a hybird mod You sign up when its in the planning stage when there is enough people to the coop goes live you make your payments and get your stuff. They are kind of frustrating at times but they are fun to and you get a nice price for what you want.
Most manufactures sell in bulk 50+ this is a way to get wholse sale prices.

Yep, what they said ^^^ :)

One thing to keep in mind with co-ops, though, is that they usually involve a lot of waiting (not always, but usually). Getting people together and getting the initial order placed usually goes pretty quick, but then everybody has to sit back and wait until the manufacturer/vendor ships the order, then wait for the co-op organizer to pack and ship everybody's individual orders to them.

They're a great way to get things really cheap, but are generally not a good option if you want your new toys right away. Patience is necessary ;-)

I just wanted to point out the time factor because I've seen a lot of people new to co-ops who get upset when things are taking too long for their liking. It's always best to know what you're getting into right from the get-go and I hope that info is helpful to you :)

ETA - here's an example. I took part in a co-op that just finished for a new chinese product that is basically a copy of the DID genisis atomizer. These atomizers just recently hit vendors and appear to be around $25-40 retail, depending on the vendor. We got them at around $7 each (plus shipping cost from the co-op organizer to us) direct from the manufacturer, but it took several weeks from the initial list of participants being started until the co-op was completed. In all honesty, it was one of the faster co-ops I've been part of

JSYK...

There is one Big Downside to a Co-Op. And that is if there is a Problem with whatever you buy.

Say you buy a PV in a Co-Op. But it arrives to you DOA.

You have to send the PV back to the Co-Op Director. Who then has to send it back to the OEM. The OEM then sends the Co-Op Director a Replacement. Who then sends it to you.

You can see how this could take a Long Time. Or if there is a Break in the Chain, you end up with a Big Headache.

Another thing to remember that what you folks are doing is actually a Cooperative purchase. An actual CoOp is a business entity. I'm splitting hairs here, but there is a large distinction. You will find that some manufacturers will refuse wholesale sales without a taxid linked to a registered business. Many simply do not care and will do business with you but there are a few that will not.
