I want to get the best out of my variable mod but at the moment I am finding that single coil is way better than dual coil.

I am using 28 kanthal on 2 mm screwdriver at 1.8ohms. Have built several different dual coil builds but was not happy with the vape.

I have 32/28/24 gauge wire. Does any one know of a build which gives good clouds but not too harsh. I am new to this so any help would be appreciated.

Here are a few links for you regarding building coils and getting the resistance just where you want it:

1. Steam Engine
2. Coil Toy Calculator

For anyone reading who does not have a mod to check their resistance, make sure you use ohm reader or DMM to check your build before putting it on your mod and firing it.

Thanks for this advice. My problem I think is trying to achieve the best balance taking into account ALL the variables. I will try the 28awg dual around the 5/64 drill bit. I have a revel dripper tank set up by Ephro. It has really good adjustable airflow so this isn't a problem.

The dual coil builds I have tried either eat the battery too quickly or the vape is too harsh. I am beginning to realize that I can't have everything my way.

I will post when I find the best balance for me. Thanks again.

Judging from my experiences with the original SVD, I would have to say that building as low as you can go more than likely won't be the best option you have. I built at .7 for a long time on my original svd, and found that it seemed to be lacking when compared to a 1.2 ohm build cranked up. Likely you will end up finding what you think is best through experimentation.

Thanks for the advice. This is exactly what I am finding... Single coil at 1-2ohms works best considering everything. I have also had success at 2 ohms also. All the dual coils I have tried don't give the best vape.

I am just about to try a single Nano coil... 28awg wrapped 22 times around 24 awg which should come out at about 1.52 ohms. I like the idea of big clouds but they must be smooth and not too hot.

I think that maybe the problem is the regulated MOD (I have the itaste 134 also)and am considering buying a mechanical so that I can play around a bit more.

Cheers
