What is the BEST tank to use for a 50% PG-50% VG blend on a Lava Tube? PLEASE...NEED HELP!

Kinda like asking what's the best coffee mug to use with decaff, Colombian blend coffee....

All a tank does is hold juice, around a carto.

I happen to love the Lava Tanks, but they're nearly impossible to find.

I also really like Mom and Pop's Vapor Shop Submarine tanks, both the mini Sub and the standard. They're relatively inexpensive, work great and are smaller in size then many others, which I happen to prefer.

That being said, ANY tank that doesn't leak is a good tank! All depends on what looks you like (the Phiniac tanks, made of glass and etched look amazing, but are, for obvious reasons, more expensive)...

If you plan to use Cinnamon juice, or some other citrus flavors, you may need to get a glass tank.

I use a basic carto tank, so there are two components, carto and tank. For me, the notcigs M1A1 1" tank has been absolutely solid, used daily for over half a year, no leaking. The M1A1 is more crack resistant (some eliquids, with high acid content primarily, tend to crack polycabonate tanks) than others, I've heard, though my all-day vape is non-stressful so I don't have a personal claim one way or the other. Overall M1A1 construction is solid, I've dropped the PV multiple times, no issues. It has a fill-port/set screw in the side -- I always top fill the tank, but if you tighten the set screw until it is just touching the carto, it really locks the tank in place nicely.

For carto, I swear by the 801 fusion 2.5 ohm from Ikenvape. Very consistent, clean, performance. I run about 22 ml through them, then swap to a new one. I use a 901/801 adapter (510/801 adapters are also readily available).

How you punch or slot the carto, along with the filler density, will determine how well a given carto works with a given eliquid. I punch two holes with my DIY carto punch, use about a 70/30 eliquid, no problems for me. On initial fill it is good to "prime" a new carto -- at least get the top of it decently wet when putting a fresh one in a tank, and do a couple of inhales on the assembled unit without firing the PV, to make sure you're pulling some eliquid into the lower part of the carto (you'll see some little bubbles come out the punch holes, tank liquid level drop slightly, when this happens). If the carto is initially wet well, the carto should be good to go, multiple days of feeding from the tank.

Good luck!

Oh OK! I noticed you said citrus flavors? Do you know if that also refers to the JUICY FRUIT e-liquid? The reason why I ask, is because I have about 60ml's of it and I don't want it to crack a new tank when I purchase it!

BTW...Your SET-UP is AWSOME! :)

Thanks! Where can I purchase a DIY carto punch?

Here's the punch I use: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/pay-forward-pif/272989-diy-carto-punch.html Two pieces, a $5 hub from drillspot (free shipping) and some simple 1/4-20 sheet metal screws. If you have trouble getting the screws, let me know.

(My DIY punch does what the COV one does, just slightly cheaper and you'll know where to get the screws. I only came up with mine because COV was out of stock for some time, and I felt like it :) )

The Phiniac tanks are indeed beautiful, also supposed to be quite rugged -- moorea has test videos up.

OK thanks! Do I just type in COV on search engine?

No opinion, I picked up a 5 pack of Smoktech DCT on a PIF coop, just because the price was so good, never have used them. (actually, the PIF coop was for the syringe plastic version of them, which is supposed to be really crack resistant, a different material, translucent not totally transparent; the syringe plastic ones apparently aren't sold by US vendors, the coop person went right to smoketech to order several hundred).

I did cut one down to standard 1" length to allow using normal length cartos with it, just been too lazy to bother checking it (since the M1A1 works for me).

The 5 pack of tanks, in the coop, only cost $18 delivered, $3.60 each.

Thevaporgirl.com has the polypropylene dctank for $12, they come in colors for a couple dollars more. This is the one tank I've used where I haven't had any flooding. They look nice, are easy to assemble and disassemble and you can swap cartos without having to take it apart. These are the polypropylene so they shouldn't crack with any liquid.. but then I've not had any crack using polycarbonate buy many have. She's got some neat stuff on her site and it's priced right.

also.. these are the larger tanks that won't work with the shorter boge cartos. You have to use the 45mm cartos which include the smoktech dual coils and the smoktech resurrector (single coil 1.7ohm) BUT the new xxl boge cartos are coming out, ccvCrystal Clear Vaping is now selling the mega xl boge 3.0 carto that is 45mm and will fit in this tank!

I really love the Lava Tanks! They SHOULDN'T make any difference in how well vaping is, from the Lava Tank to any other tank... but I'd SWEAR that they work better, for some reason!

I don't really like fruit flavored juices, or cinnamon flavored juices, so I'm not really the right guy to ask. The Mom and Pop Sub tanks are realitively inexpensive (I think about $12 each), and I believe you can get a replacement tube. Might be worth a try to get one of their tanks, say, the Sub mini, and purchase the longer tube as well.

That way, once it arrives, you can try out whatever juice you're not sure of (as far as if it'll crack the tubing), and if it does crack the smaller tube, you will still have the longer size tube which you can use as a replacement. Then you'll know you need to spend the extra $$$ and find a glass tank.

My all day juice is RY4 from Health Cabin (cost about $22 for 110ml bottle, and it tastes GREAT!), Halo's Tribeca, and Vanilla Custard from The Vapor Room.

I toss in other flavors on occasion, but those are the juices I leave the house with, when I'll be out and about, and not able to change flavors. None of them are a risk to cracking a tube, but that's not really why I like them. Just love the flavors!

Get yourself a carto punch, once you know for sure you like tanks and are sticking with vapping! I found that purchasing cartos pre-punched costs around $2.25-2.50 each, but if you have a carto punch and buy them is moderate quantities (say, 25-50 cartos at a time), you can get them for about $1.20 and even less! (These are the Boge cartos I'm talking about... I generally get Boge 3.0's)

Good luck!
