What is the difference between other mechanical mods?

What is the difference between other mechanical mods? Like what makes one better than another mechanical mod? Do they all do the same thing.

Mechanical Mods are for the most part just a tube to hold a battery. HOWEVER: There are differences. You have spring loaded switches and magnetic switches (I prefer magnetic as they seem to conduct better and the button is less likely to get hot). There is also the material mainly of the contacts; copper, stainless, brass, nickel, plated, etc. This makes a difference in voltage drop. And there are mods with or without locking rings, with or without adjustable posts...difference in function I guess you could say. And of course there are good mods that are well made and cheap rip offs that have crunchy buttons or grinding threads. All these things can add up to a great mod or a poor mod.

Most tube mechs are bottom fired.
Two top fired mechs are the Poldiac and the 69.

Most mechs come with 510 only threading. Few come with 510/eGo threading.

Alot of mechs, especial bottom fired mechs, come with adjustable top center pin.

Some (few mechs) are telescopic.

Popular mechs are available in a variety of materials: steel, brass, or copper.

Some mechs have silver or gold plated contacts.

Another thing is max battery length; I bought a mod that will accept a regular 18650 and a kick module too; with some mechs, if you want to use a kick you have to buy a shorter battery size to make it fit.

Like the two above me said, a mech mod in a nutshell is just a metal tube meant to hold a battery and deliver the straight voltage of the particular battery you have installed. There are a variety of factors that could affect performance (particular contacts, switches, etc.), but in the end it's mostly a visual/aesthetic kinda thing. If you like how it looks, it may be the mech for you!
