I am a little confused, I read at common flavor suppliers they recommend starting with 5% flavor and adjusting from there up to 10% so based on a 10ml bottle we're talking from 0.5 up to 1ml of flavor added ( 6 to 12 drops ) however when I browse through some the DIY recipes posted I see some 2ml flavor for a 6ml ejuice and that seems way excessive to me could someone please help on what best ratio to use when experimenting with flavors. Thanks

Sitting down, facing forward.
There are too many variables to answer this specifically. Some of my flavors have been at 2.5%, but the one that's my ADV is 15%, a mix of a bunch of flavors. It also depends on whose flavors are used, the level of concentration varies tremendously. I guess the upper limit would be set by how much PG and nicotine are being used. Most flavors seem to use PG as a carrier, so high percentages would prevent achieving a 60/40 or 50/50 mix for example.

I am using Loranns single fruit flavors to start with, like raspberry, Apple, blackberry and I also ordered some FA flavors to try that one

How can I tell the which flavor to use less and which to use more, is it based on try and error or is there some compiled list somewhere on ratio for these flavors, on LA web site you find recipes for cakes and candy...Thanks for all your help

I had about 40 flavors from LorAnn and on average, it varied from 5-18% for me. Some of them are so weak I don't know how they're used for baking while others are so strong (Fruit Punch, Tutti Fruitty), there's no way I could vape them with such high concentrations (i.e. 18% or greater).

It is a bit of trial and error as taste is always subjective and I may like 18%, but that may be too intense for you. Generally, I recommend starting at 3-5% and adding more as needed until you reach what you feel is best for you. Going too high right off the bat is a waste of flavoring (and money) and the only way to get it back down is to dilute it and create a larger batch than you intended.

There's really no set minimimum/maximum, each flavor is different and depends a lot on concentration.

Some flavors are so concentrated, they need to be measured out as a miniscule percentage (1-2.5%). Others are so weak you could nearly make a juice out of it alone. Generally, the limits are at the low end is a single drop, anything higher than 30% and something's wrong.

When working a flavor, roam the board and see what other DIY vapers are doing with it. You learn from mistakes, but there's no law that says you can only learn from yours. Identify the pitfalls and benefit from others' experimentation by reading about it, it'll save you time and money in the long run.

SEARCH is your friend!

When I try new flavors, I do it completely by trial and error.
Start out weak. 1 drop from a pipette per ml will give you about 4%. 2 drops about 8%
The more you add the more it throws off the 4% per drop, but it'll put you in the ballpark.
I don't like strong flavors, so this works well for me. I flavor my stuff entirely by drops and don't take into account the extra volume or pg because I vape high pg and don't usually go over 5% flavor.
