Love the Pipe Louis!! Is it 18650 or 350?

Just a lil 18350. I just recently pif'd all my 18350 batts to a smoker looking to make the trip. Need to get some of the new 800mAh AW's, but DARN they want a lot of a little battery! Best price I can find is at RTD, $8. Seems a bit much, since I can find 3000mAh LG HG2's for $5ish... I need at least 8.

Thanks! It's setup right now with a 306 atty and real empire dripguard, so it will hold a ml or so. The 510 connector will take a tank too, but I don't care for the look.

This was before he used PRS. At that time - late '70's. Carlos played, endorsed, and helped design that guitar - a Yamaha SG2000. I know, Yamaha - it's crazy, but that thing is a fantastic instrument. I was going to get an Anniversary Les Paul, but waited for the chance to find and play one of each - and the Yamaha was better crafted, better materials, better tone and sustain...still is today.

Cool! :D Do you have a PRS Santana model now?

Now you're talking... Santana the one and only. :thumb: I am sure you could have knocked me over with a feather the first time I heard them (Abraxas) <nods>

I like Clapton. He has an exceptional ability to communicate, and emote, with his music.
He's not an outstanding technical guitarist - nothing he plays is particularly difficult or anything - but he connects with people through his music.
There are a TON of outstanding technical guitarists that aren't ever going to get famous...
SO...not an exceptional guitar player really, but an exceptional artist and musician (because I include that ability in "musicianship") who plays guitar.
:D

Opposite end of spectrum - perhaps Satriani, who IS technically outstanding - but whose popularity was somewhat limited because he's NOT particularly connecting emotionally.

The one's I rank highest are those who combine
a) CREATIVITY and talent on the instrument - perhaps technical, perhaps not
and
b) The emoting thing

Examples:
Jimi (totally inventive use of the instrument, and emotional immersion far beyond most musicians)
Eddie (creative use of the instrument - he invented some stuff)
Santana (a little of both)
there's certainly more...those are good examples though...

Sometimes technical gets in my way of liking someone -
Like Jimmy Page. I like Zeppelin - because of the drums. Page was just so damned sloppy, it bugs me. But he was creative and emoted, so I'm not gonna argue if he's in your list.
:D

I think I agree with nearly all you have said! Except that for the most part Clapton conveys little emotion to me. FWIW Satriani (walked out at first intermission) and Page don't float my boat either. Should I start worrying about a lynch mob? Eddie not only invented new guitar techniques he is one of a very few rock guitarists who actually plays to the changes. Great example T2!

I like music. Pretty much all music. Two of my favorite guitarists aren't on anybody's list, but their sound connects with me. Not to the level of Clapton & Knopfler, from which I hear voices, but still they do. They are Steve Howe and Alex Lifeson.

But my list is LONG. I will just as quickly listen to Tom Morello kick something as I will to Sara Bareilles sing something beautifully. Or to P!ink, rocking an old Janis wonder, or one of her many hit songs that grab me by the :censored: and SHAKE me.

David Sanborn, Grover Washington, Jr. or Hiroshima for some marvelous soft-jazz, or Bach on a Saturday morning with coffee.

I guess my point is that I don't think all that much about the music I'm listening to, but oh-oh-OH, I do hear it. And I hear it all so marvelously well.

Here's to the music - long may it play. :toast:

Yeah I was around for all that. :)

I like Steve Howe!

Never a big fan of Lifeson, but it's cool that you mention him - cuz he's responsible for the other guitar I own. Long story, but I ended up with a Signature - an awesome axe from a guitar company Lifeson propped up for the few years it existed.

Mine looks like this, but has my name inlaid in the fretboard in mother of pearl (that's how they came - standard)!
The wood grain through blue is really sharp - and again, top-notch materials and build.

YAY!!! DING DING!!! WE HAS A VICTOR!! Your prize, is the responsisillity of stumpin the Krewe further...

E-pipemods.com, They will make no two alike so each is as unique and individual as the user themselves. However, the fire button IS a commonality to most of their models. This one, is a Banksia Seed Pod. VERY hard wood like material, and can only be sourced from South Western Australia. Congratulations, @Train2 .

Like him as a guitarist or not, no human can deny that he gave THE best acceptance speech, ever, for anything, at ANY time. If you haven't seen it, it's worth the Google.
