It's been one of those weeks! Had a medical emergency in the family, and we finally got my daughter out of the hospital yesterday afternoon. We finally all got home, mentally and physically exhausted only to have the tornado sirens go off a couple of hours later and have a tornado touch down. It ran a 30 mile long track and began to head straight for my neighborhood!
We got lucky and it veered off just barely south of us. We got lucky, but a lot of people in our area didn't fare so well. It knocked out power and did a lot of damage to a brand new housing edition just a little ways from us.
I know they say when it rains it pours, and I can deal with that, but does it have to have a rain wrapped tornado in the middle of it? I mean, come on. Really?
Oh well, no sense worrying about what we can't change. Luckily, I seem to live in an area that seems to thread the needle. We're a newer housing edition so our power lines are underground. And the really bad weather always seems to head straight for us and then either veers just north or south of us.
Definitely counting our blessings this morning.

Yeah, if we'd have lost the vette my buddy would've been a drooling mental patient. Then I would've had to work on his house by myself.

Well, if I had my choice between Kat's earthquakes, LJF's hurricanes, or my tornados..............I'm gonna stick with my tornados!
I love Florida, but any state that has a designated lane on the highway to evacuate............no thanks!
Kat-lifornia? I can barely walk a straight line when the ground isn't shaking!
Although Oklahoma is now the state with the most "man-caused" earthquakes according to the USGS, lol.

I only ever went elsewhere for a cat5, and it didn't hit, Floyd I think, but all others, stand my ground, Normal Florida Weather.

Sorry DH I have not tried the Cage tank, but I have several D-Base, only tank I am using at the moment. The Cage looks like a nice tank, but I have no reason to spend $60+ to try one.

some of us are smart... when a Cat5 is on the way, you get out of the way... spent 15 hrs on the road just to get to Huntsville Al. ( Katrina) took 3 hrs just to travel 45 miles... Cat4 and under is just a another heavy rain storm

I stay away from the classies, I tend to spend too much money if I look.
