What is Vegetable Glycerin? - Global Healing Center

Vegetable glycerin is produced using an extraction process called hydrolysis. During hydrolysis, oils are placed under the combined force of pressure, temperature, and water. The ester bond breaks and causes the glycerin to split from fatty acids and be absorbed by water; at which point the resultant is further isolated by distillation to increase purity. Purified vegetable glycerin has a texture similar to an oil or syrup due to its organic molecular makeup, specifically, three hydroxyl groups.

To conclude, there is no health risk associated with inhaling atomized, aerosolized, vaporized, etc. Vegetable Glycerine/Glycol/Glycerol. More than enough studies have been done concerning the health effects of inhaled (or otherwise consumed) glycerol to determine that, in fact, more than enough studies have been done. All studies regarding this issue lead to one conclusion: There is no need to study this further, this (VG) is a harmless substance. I applaud the ANTZ for holding out this long against the barrage of scientific evidence that proves what they are dreading… that not only are E-cigarettes an effective way of quitting (or cutting down on) cigarettes, they are actually not very harmful at all, because none of the ingredients contained therein pose any risk to human healt

I don't really care if it doesn't stink up the place. I'd like to bonk the guy that invented cigarettes on the head. (Not the guy that invented alcohol though)
An acquaintance I really respect once (half jokingly) told me that data suggests that all the great human civilizations really got underway when they learnt how to brew beer (or a similar beverage). To quote Homer Simpson: "Alcohol, the cause of and solution to all of life's problems".
