For me - even though I am sleeved in tattoos and have punched out earlobes - the old timey gospel hymns are my absolute favorites. New, contemporary stuff just doesn't grip me like those old hymns.

BTW - anybody know of some good old time gospel albums? (I already have Johnny Cash's "My Mother's Hymn Book").

So what do you like?

I love Christmas music! And harp instrumental music always makes me feel good. I think the harp and the flute are my favorite instruments. I do still love 80's rock tho.............LOL!

God doesn't care what you look like on the outside, I have a big tattoo on my shoulder and crazy wild curly hair down to my waist that my mother says looks like a prostitute or something........LMAO!.......it's what's in your heart that matters. Everything else is just superficial decoration.:D

Isreal and new breed, Freddy rodriguez, Brooklyn Taberbacle, Chris Tomlin, Casting Crowns, Todd Agnew (Fragile Breath man I love that song) and others..

As music director for my church's praise and worship group, we mix it up all the time from traditional to contemporary to Gospel and others.

Praise God, I just love music!!! :D

Hi there!

I love Christian music whether it's the traditional hymns, or contemporary. I started listening to contemporary many years ago from the group 4Him. That was actually the first time I ever listened to that style of Christian music, and I loved it!

My all time favorite is traditional, though: "Amazing Grace"

Over the years, I've come to love many different artists. Steven Curtis Chapman, Hillsong, Phillips/Craig & Dean...too many to name!

But I have to tell about a Southern Gospel group that is just fantastic: The Booth Brothers. They got their start with Bill Gaither on one of his Homecoming videos--"Freedom Band", and they are just fantastic! :D
They have a website if anyone is interested: Boothbrothers dot com. Their signature song is "Still Feelin' Fine". If you like a bluegrass/cajun type of music, you'll love this song. It is really unique.

Sorry this post is so long! I don't get excited about Christian music, do I?:D

God Bless you and yours!

I love Carman, because he sings of spiritual warfare and other types of music. He doesn't stick with one style of song. He'll do a bit of country/western, pop, rap....contemporary....he did the songs, "The Standard," "The Champion," "Lazarus," "R.I.O.T." - Righteous Invasion of Truth, and so many more. He even had some comedic ones. His upbeat songs give me a boost of energy to do the laundry and such!

being that i was a metalhead before Christ's intervention, i've taken a liking to bands like Skillet, Manafest and Since October.

Red, I was just putting up my favorite Christian music. I also love Neil Diamond and even a couple of Metallica's songs. Yeah.....I said Metallica. Have been with my husband to see Nugent in concert and even met he and his wife at a book signing. Mr. Potty Mouth himself, was so nice and cordial. Of course I have to use a cane to help me walk longer distances so he may have been impressed about that....who knows! I also like Stevie Ray Vaughn and classical. I have a very wide variety of music that I love. My family always had music going and my father was one of the co-founders of our symphomy here.

Have you listened to any Petra?
