Im curious to see what the community uses these days,
Do you prefer to use rdas or rtas?
Or even sub tanks and or pods?
What is your go to and all day vape for when at home?
Sometimes online i read stuff like "wow do you still use rdas?"
Idk why one would say that because other then rebuildables we got sub tanks and pods so ofc i still use them!
But does the vape community in general use them alot as wel still?
Seems kinda like a dying breed even in vape stores they are starting to carry less and less rebuildables it seems like its all going towards pods but why tho do people prefer them?
I mean why else would china make so many pods its because it sells i think
Well not me lol i dont even own 1 pod :)
Rebuildables and subtanks are my go to!

Zero pods here.

Only RDA, RDTA and RTA are in-use.

I do have a couple tanks that take drop-in coils in my stash. But those are my backup plan in case I am unable to build on RBA's at some point in the future. Like maybe when I'm 90. LOLz

Silently, wonders what ECF will be like when I'm 90 in 2050?

My vaping falls into multiple 'camps':
    - I have a handful of different single (and a few dual) coil RTA's in service, mostly filled with ether unflavored or lightly/mild flavored juice
    - As my profile image shows, I have a handful (or MORE) Squankers in service, each loaded with different flavors (technically BF-RDA's)
    - I keep/use a SINGLE Atlantis-Mega mounted to my 2x26650 mod for keepsake/old times sake. While it generally sports a factory NI coil, I do have RA's kits for it. :)
    - last and surely least I do own 2 'pod mods' just for fun. They see little (if any) use due to the inherent issues I have with them (see my review in another forum).

To conclude: when I want/need nicotine I'll reach for a RTA and when I wish to have flavor with it I'll reach for a squanker. Builds are almost always rebuildable and single coil with few exceptions

Sub ohm drop in coils just got tired of fighting with RBA’s. Geekvape P coils for my work pods and Z coils for my tanks. Found what I like and am keeping it simple, stocked up and always fighting the urge to try the latest and greates.

That's the way I feel about my Fireluke. I can and do build with my RDAs on occasion and if/when the time comes I can't get coils for the Fireluke, I'll still be able to vape happily and famously. Seriously though, my best build doesn't compare to the Fireluke mesh coils as far as flavor goes. Mesh rules.

    RTA's. I had 6 or 7 different ones, lost some in a move. I have 3 still, a Brunhilde, a True, and a 2K16 Doggiestyle. All 3 are my #1..

In 2050 I'll be 83 and more TARless! I'm a couple months short of 9 years and so far my lungs have avoided over 40 OZ.'s of TAR.

I am almost exclusively an RDA vaper. I do still have an RTA around here, but I suspect it will need a sonic cleaning to be vapable again. For the past year or seven, I have been primarily using small chamber, post-less, bottom feeder RDAs. I prefer drippers for their unbeatable flavor. I prefer squonkers because of their cleanliness and because I can feed (squonk) the dripper while driving with one hand. My go to device for many years at home, work and every where is a BF RDA. For the past year or three, I've been using regulated mods (they are convenient), but I am still very comfortable with unregulated, battery-to-coil mods.

Starting from stock cartomizer, cig-alike setups, through clearos and more, I have tried many tank, RTA, and RDTA systems over the years, including the old "tilt and vape" genesis style atomizers. I prefer bottom fed RDAs.

Oddly enough, just tonight, I pulled out a couple of VERY old devices so I can taste some samples from a new (to me) NET juice provider. A Cyclone RDA with the Fusion drip tip, and my old Provari V2.5 mod. (Real dripper, not a bottom-fed system). It took me only two tries to manage a 1.5 Ohm coil (not advisable to go too deep in sub-ohm on a Provari) in 32ga wire with 1.5mm ID. Good Lord, but that wire is tiny and fragile. But there isn't much room in a Cyclone (Shhh, I bought it almost 10 years ago).

I am very pleased with the results. Even though the Cyclone is really not airy (love its small chamber) I can easily taste these samples and decide whether I want to commit to larger bottles for my better BF, MTL setups.

Sorry. Back to the question. As you may have surmised, I prefer rebuildables over systems that require purchasing proprietary coils. I'm sure you already understand why after reading other answers here. My supply of rayon, cotton, and wire will last longer than I will be able to vape. And both of those supplies would be considered bulk in comparison to any of the disposable systems available.

I must admit that I have not tried any of the pod style systems. I imagine they're making some flavorful get-ups, but I don't know. Maybe it's a straight razor vs disposable blade system? Why buy a replacement every time when you can simply sharpen (recoil) the device?

P.S. My local vape stores have always left a lot to desired in respect to hardware. Likewise in respect to NET vape juices.

Been a good while since I've posted... I started out with cig-a-likes (the once well-known Cignot kit) and then just dripping on 510 atomizers. I never found anything better than those as far as just the right throat hit. Eventually, they became very hard to find. Tried a couple of clearos and hated them. Tried Endura Prism T22 and wasn't thrilled. Tried Zenith tank and stuck with that for years even though not too thrilled with that either.

All my Zenith tanks started leaking and I've given up on them. I bought tons of vape stuff during the summer of 2016 spree extravaganza that so many of us went on. Prices for older gear were so good. Among my purchases was some cartomizers and carto tanks. I pulled those out this week and just regret I didn't try them years ago. Best I've had since I had to give up those little atomizers. Guess I'm just hard core old school. I'll be looking around to see if I can score more cartomizers. Would love some nicer carto tanks as well.

In 2016, I bought a bunch of Kayfun Light + v2 tanks, tons of spare parts, and a bunch of older RDAs. When I get up the nerve and motivation, I'll learn to make my own coils.

I love that this forum is still kicking.❤️

edited to add: I did get a little pod mod for use when I need to stealth vape. I don't use it all that much otherwise, but I do like it. Just too expensive to use much.

Why does it need sonic cleaning cant you just clean it your self @Bimini Twist i sometimes leave the same build in a tank for months all soaked with liquid i take it out new one in and vapes fine
Well, because there is some sort of crystallization going on. It has been a loooong time since I juiced/fired up that system. I'm thinking it will take more than a hot water rinse at this stage.

I remember the Kayfuns. I went through a few generations of them. They were revolutionary in that they were easily rebuildable, small chamber tank systems that DID NOT LEAK! Very flavorful. In the end, though, I needed much more air-flow than they offered.

That crystallization might just be dried up juice and the sugars and flavors in it. Some hot water and maybe a hard bristle toothbrush or something may be all thats needed.
