Let me be clearer. This is the atty mod sub-forum. I am looking to build a mod which may be prone to flooding.

Lets say I am building a new atty from scratch or opening a stock 510 and looking to improve its resistance to flooding. I'm looking for technical improvements.

Lets take the CarlosJB for example: I believe it is less likely to flood according to reports I've read.

Why do you think this is? What exactly happens when an atty floods? Electrical shorts? Electrical blockage? Is the coil absolutely encased and cannot heat up? The latter seems to be the most likely.

Id so would expanding the coil or changing its shape make it less likely to flood? Would ventilating the coils cup allowing drainage and decrease flooding.

Don't say there is nothing one can do about. Thats why the mod forums exist to solve existing problems.

Good luck, then.
