What nicotine level would you suggest to a pack a day smoker using a 0.5 ohm coil?

Depends on what you were smoking (full flavor, lights, ultra lights, etc.) and what PG/VG level (harshness of throat hit) --- you could have strong throat hit but not enough nicotine, etc.

But.....

Your idea to start w/6mg sounds about right, I fear that 12 mg might be a little "rough" for you w/a 0.5ohm coil.

Can always bump up to 9mg or 12mg if that isn't working but would not consider if vaping higher PG, throat may feel shredded

When i started vaping i started on 24mg with a 1.5 coil. Once i went to sub ohm i dropped to 12mg. My advice for the new vaper is go on the high side. Exp when you first start you'll want that sure nic hit to help make the transition. I'd say go for 9mg it's on the higher side but will probably curb any craving.

If you grab some of each strength, 6 & 12, as long as they are complimentary flavours ie. Vanilla Custard with Banana (or almost ant fruit for that matter), if straight 12 is too strong
you can dilute the strength with the lower mg liquid.

If there is a single flavour you know you like it also never hurts to have it in 2 or 3 nic. levels for your changing needs throughout the day. ie. 3mg, 6mg, 12mg. Cheers.

Perhaps if we knew how much juice you were vaping each day that would help.

At work I vape 24mg because I only get about 30 puffs during each break and then some at lunch. After work when I get home I drop down to 5mg because I will tootie puff all night long non stop.

I was a pack a day smoker and probably vape about 2ml of 24 mg and 3-4ml of 5mg per day. Really don't think the coil is much of a factor though. I use 1.5 ohm ego-style vapes all day. I will break out my .5 Joytech coil when I want to blow clouds but that is 0mg nic juice.

Coils and tanks make a big difference in my opinion because I primarily use Nautilus Minis at 3MG and 1.6 Ω coils. When I vape the same 3MG on a Pangu Tank with .5Ω coils 3-5 chain vapes can make me a little light headed. I can still blow clouds that waft across an intersection with my Minis.

I see your point, but we are kind of talking apples and apples here. Using a .5 ohm coil will go through more juice than a 1.6 ohm coil if taking the same amount of puffs in the same amount of time. So it still pretty much boils down to how much juice he is going through.

No we are not talking about the same amount of liquid because I can pound down 2ML's of e-Liquid in my Nautilus Minis in an hour but after 5-6 pulls on my Sub Ohm tank I have not even vaped 1/10 an ML.
