Hi everyone -
I'm in college, pretty broke, probably because I spend all my money on cigarettes. When I get money for Xmas I think I'm going to buy myself an e-cig starter kit because the roommate I'll be moving in with next term doesn't want me smoking in the room. I need some advice, here's my criteria and questions:
1. Is a starter pack the best choice considering I smoke up to a pack a day? I've tried e-cigs before and think they're okay although I don't plan on switching over completely from tobacco. If I get a starter pack, should I get anything to supplement it?
2. What brand should I get? Obviously cheapness and quality are fairly important.
3. Can I blow rings with vapor? When I'm depressed, nothing beats putting on some Townes Van Zant, lying in my dorm and blowing smoke rings. I'll be upset if I can't do that next semester. Is there a special kind of vapor/cartridge/whatever that's particularly good for thick, beautiful vapor rings? The couple times I've tried e-cigs, the vapor has been pretty thin. Not sure if this is a brand thing, a battery thing, or an issue with e-cigs in general.
I think that's it. Thanks a bunch.

I agree with the Joye eGo, it is a greater starter set with good flavor, throat hit and tons of vapor. I would suggest getting a drip tip, they are only a couple of bucks and learn how to use it by searching the forum or just asking. You will need some juice, order a few different flavors in small or sample bottles, try different things, not just tobacco, there are great fruit and sweet flavors that may just hit the spot for you. FreedomSmokeUSA and Backwoods Brew are two of the most popular sites. Good luck to you and I think you will really enjoy vaping.

The best deal in town is a Riva kit from Liberty Flights. 30 bucks for a starter kit with ECF 20% discount (upper left corner). Can't beat that. Riva is the exact same thing as the eGo, BTW. I own both and there is no difference in performance (and I prefer Rivas' buttons).

Good luck.

Here's the link. They are temporarily out of stock, so you'll just have to watch their forum/website.

I second, third and fourth and eGo. I know it's said a lot around here....but that is for a very good reason. I started with the analog types (tried 2 different models/companies) and quickly returned those and bought an eGo. So happy I did! Especially since money is an issue, just go for the eGo right off the bat. You won't be sorry.

I stared with a "pencil" type ecig and quickly moved to an ego i also agree save yourself the money and just get the ego or riva to start with more batt power and a much better vape. If you buy a kit i recommend getting the ego pass through kit b/c you can use it connected to your pc/laptop and it can be disconnected and used like a normal ego when away from a computer. I have never run out of power. The best part is you can use it while it is "charging" so there is technically no down time. Check out cignot for a pass through kit, they have different ones with different prices so read what you get with each one.

I got the one for $57 b/c it had cartomizers, cartridges&atomizer and a drip tip plus juice samples so i was able to see what method of vaping worked for me.

I second (or 3rd or 4th) an Ego or Riva starter kit. Also +1 on a drip tip. Couple that with a few bottles of juice and your good to go!!! My favorite juices are mainly from MadVapes. They are really cheap too. Try the Top Vapes Banana Nut Bread or Cheesecake. For great tobacco flavors my favorites are BackwoodsBrew. LOVE their menthol!!!! Good luck and happy vaping!
