Vapor has a lot to do with airflow and surface area vs what gauge you use. Lower gauge is always thicker and takes more time/power to reach temp (as well as lower ohms per inch). I would start with 30 until you feel comfortable making your own coils, then step up to 28. Don't want to make a mistake on your first go IMO. You will need less wraps with 30 to reach your target resistance. Do you have an ohm meter or multimeter? If not, you should go buy one before you even attempt to make a coil.

what is thicker 30g or 28g and i want a lot of vapor

28 gauge is thicker. With a spinner, you're probably going to need to keep the resistance up; I believe they (vision spinners) are limited to 2.5 amps. If you try to push the voltage, it will just drop the voltage output to maintain current below the limit. Let's just say you're going to run at 4 volts. A 2.5 amp limit means your builds will have to be kept above 1.6 ohms (at that voltage). In case you don't know, current=voltage/resistance, so you just solve for the unknown quantity.

The other side of the coin is if the limit doesn't work and you try to push the battery too far, it could vent on you. And you don't want that happening next to your face.

If you haven't already, get yourself either an inexpensive multimeter or an atomizer ohm tester. And if you aren't already, familiarize yourself with ohm's law and battery safety.

Rebuildables really are a fantastic thing, but they do need some work on your part to make sure you're doing it right.

28 will not work. It will fire but vapor production will be virtually non-existent. To hit your target resistance with 28 will be a huge clump of wire. 32 is really your only option with a spinner. Ohms law is an important skill when rebuilding but with a regulated device with a limit not a safety one at this point. You really want to hit between 1.8 and 2.2 ohms

edit - with a spinners 10 second firing limit it will barely be hot in that time. Heat the 32 first makes it a bit easier to work with

I have a vision spinner and i just got my patriot RDA and i want to know what kanthal gauge is best
also i want a gauge that is not easily breakable and on that stays on place not to thin

vision spinner and patriot rda: 30 gauge seems to be the all round versatile gauge.

Usually on rda's and rba's people use 28 gauge which is nice and sturdy; and the thicker you get from there the sturdier it is; but 28 gauge is like 10 to 15 watts per ohm in power requirement.

32 gauge is very fine, and easy to distort when trying to pull cotton through.
34 gauge is worse of course.

30 gauge is useable for both rebuildables and for recoiling stock coils.

There is also an alternative: ribbon wire / flat wire; my first roll of wire was 0.1mm x 0.3mm; but I don't recommend it for beginners.

i have a multimeter
I would like to use 28 because it should be thicker and easier to use

With 28 gauge you want a power source that will give you 15 watts per ohm; that's going to be a challenge for a little vision spinner.
worse yet if you build a 2 ohm coil with 28 gauge; you're going to want a 20 to 30 watt mod.

I'd aim for 1.5 ohm 30 gauge.
