48mg for me.............not on the poll though.
To vape???!! Wow, I managed to get close to that during a DIY where I flipped the ml measurement for the nic with the VG measurement and.... wow what an dizzying, ear buzzing experience that was. Oy, didn't need to vape for about 3 hours after those few hits- had to lay down too (cheap date). That is why I don't mix with anything higher than 48 mg for my nic base.
I vape 12-18 mg depending on how much of my homework is due the next day.

The PV and circumstances make a difference too though. At 5v I can easily get away with 18 (dripping) When I used an eGO I vaped 36 and felt I could go higher. Also, if I'm just sitting and typing away on ECF, the TH is fine and 18 is enjoyable. When I'm out, I definitely use the 5v with 24 and even then I'm sometimes taking extra long drags.

The poll asks what you buy. Hence my response

Elendil, that was awe in my post.... I am usually a wimp with this kind of stuff (alcohol, nicotine). Totally forgot that people who have done this for a while easily do DIY. I have just started doing that recently, and my first experiment included my measuring error. I am glad this forum is here, I would be a babe in the woods if it wasn't for you guys!

I started out with 24mg juice, but went right to 18mg after using up my initial supply.

About the only reason I had for making the change was because I saw that a lot of online suppliers had their 18mg eliquid described as "high" and called their 24mg juice things like "ultra-high." So, I figured I just didn't need the super-ultra-mega nicotine content.

And so, I've been buying 18mg juice steadily for the last 6 months or so.

There are some changes that would be made to this poll if it started again. For example:

-- 30mg is a better choice than 28mg, which does not exist now AFAIK.
-- 48mg should be included as some people use that. It may be not be what they end up with after adding flavors but the question was, "What do you buy?" - not what do you use.
-- Nobody would use those strength descriptions now, it goes more like this:

0mg - zero nic
6mg - extra low
12 - low
18 - medium
24 - medium-high
30 - high
36 - extra high
48 - super-high

I buy 48mg to 100mg unflavored nic.
Just to try different pre-mixed, I started out with 36mg and now order 12mg.

Hey Suz just curious if you don't mind. Was dropping your mg intake kinda like quitting smoking all over again, for you at all?? I've tried it and I really miss the throat hit. I'm not sure but if I could keep the throat hit, I might be able to lower it a little, for a while maybe anyway.

I didn't even think about lowering my nic level and when I ordered juice, I always ordered 36mg nic for close to 10 months. When I started trading juices with people I would end up getting 24 mg and 18mg and 12mg to try.

Then, because I love the TWDV juices, I got cheap and started taking their pre-mixed 36mg and adding PG and a bit of their flavorings and dropped nic level to 24mg. Now I just buy the flavorings and mix my own at 12mg.

After NOT using the 36mg much for awhile, I would get that dizzy, nauseous feeling of too much nic when I used it so I stuck with 24mg and lower.

Recently I started only ordering 12mg pre-mixed for the different flavors. I enjoy vaping some juices at 24mg (can't do the 24mg all day) and every now and then some at 36mg for old times sake.

I guess this was a long winded way of answering your question. The short answer would be No, lowering nic wasn't even close to like quitting smoking...it was a gradual process because I became accustomed to listening to what worked for my body instead of being ruled, as in the past 40 years, by my addiction to the stinkies no matter what my body was telling me.

NOTE: I get great TH from juices that are 36mg, 24mg, 18mg, and 12mg which has led me to believe that TH is more about the quality of the juice and what hardware you are using to vape it (atty AND pv).

From the responses in this thread, you can see that many people buy a higher strength and then mix it down to a lower strength that they actually vape, to save costs. So they would vote for a higher nicotine content that what they actually vape.

I think the real strength of this poll was to give guidance as to how strong of an eliquid is needed to get a buzz, stave off urges to smoke analogs, etc. Meanwhile, it's no secret that you can save by buying concentrated liquid to dilute.

So maybe the original poster could alter the poll to ask what people actually VAPE, versus what they buy.
