Have quit a few times on Chantix (only thing that worked), but always went back to it after 4-6 months (usually after a drink or two).

I had a friend who successfully quit about 10 years ago on Chantix. I tried three years ago and it was a miserable failure. Followed the instructions and continued to smoke the first week. After the first week ended, I quit. The first day was a bit difficult, but I soldiered on. By the second day, I was going nuts and broke down and bought a pack. I continued taking the Chantix and they say that you're supposed to end up hating the taste of a cigarette and the drug is supposed to block the effect of nicotine. That never happened and I continued using Chantix for the end of that first month and the second month before I gave up. The kicker was that my medical insurance did not cover Chantix, so I had to pay "full retail" for it, about $250 a month.

Always thought that I would be smoking until the day they put me in the ground, but vaping changed everything. Had my last cigarette the day I started vaping and haven't had one in the six months since.

Well, I'll ask it here, but it's kinda speciality so I may give it a day and then ask in a more appropriate place...

Have successfully used a Mutation X V4 built for TC and a Kanger Plus with NI coils on an IPV4. On Friday I received the new VAir-T Ni coils for the Atlantis V2. Put them in the Atlantis, sat it on the IPV4 and after 1 second or so got a "Short" message. All 5 of the coils did the same thing. However, they fired fine on a SMOK 80 in the temp mode (I know about the SMOK 80 not really being temp controlled) and, as of last night when I got it, on a Snow Wolf 200.

So, the problem appears to be limited to the IPV4. I saw someone in the Temp Control section talking about exactly this issue and saying something about either tightening down the coils more or adjusting the 510 pin. I tried both with no change. I was wondering if the adjustment to the pin was mostly out or mostly in. In either case it's as clean as I can make it and whether adjusted until the Atlantis doesn't even quite touch the unit or adjusted until the pin almost doesn't touch the Atlantis post I get the same problem. For now I'm just using the Snow Wolf to fire it.

Well, the IPV4 should fire down to 0.1 ohm coils, and the vAir-T nickel coils should read out at 0.25... have you checked the resistances after installation on a stand-alone meter? What do they read on the SMOK 80 or the Snow Wolf?
I would suspect that the pin being adjusted full out so that the Atlantis doesn't quite touch the IPV4 would give you the best chances at a connection. Other than that, I'm not sure what else to tell you. Sorry...

 ROFLMAO!

Sorry, just saw this or I would have responded sooner! You guys make me laugh! :D

:D I'm still waiting for you to come over here and play "bad cop"... or good cop... either way, sounds like there's fun to be had! :p

I'm not very good at bad cop....but good cop doesn't sound like it's as much fun.

What a conundrum <~new favorite word it seems.

Ahhh... yes, that is quite the problem, but I'm sure that together we could elucidate this matter... :D
See? I can use fancy words too! :p

Thanks for the response. I think the IPV4 will fire down to 0.05 or so on Nickel, but you're right about the vAir-T nickel coils reading out at 0.25. All three devices read about that when you first install the tank and only the IPV4 does the short thing.

For some reason I am now able to reply to the thread where it was briefly discussed (Vape Only Vair-t coils | E-Cigarette Forum) so I'll do that and maybe dathan_b will give more info about how he fixed it.
