I have both and while I love the MVP I haven't used it much since I got the istick. The form factor of the iStick is just better, in my opinion. It is smaller, has comparable battery life and bigger range of power. The downside of the iStick is that it uses an outdated form of power measurement which means it runs hotter compared to other contemporary pv's. This isn't a problem for the majority of users, though.

I have both. It's hard to decide which is better. The MVP2 is bigger, heavier and has a lower watt limit. The iStick is more portable, goes to 20 watts with slightly lower mah (2200 vs 2600). The MVP2 has been around longer and most owners have had few problems with it. The iStick is still too new to know how it will hold up over time.

Both devices have had issues with the 510 center pin but the iStick has been reported to have thread stripping problems.

Both are reasonably priced.

I really prefer my iStick over the MVP2 but it's only a week old. I recently bought a second one but mostly because I couldn't resist the price. It was a one of a kind sale so I only paid about $18.

Well, I'm not exactly the person you were looking for to reply, as I haven't used an iStick, but I was just in the same situation as you. I have an MVP v2. I dropped it and the 510/ego connection is now loose. It still works, but is a bit wobbly now. I was going to replace it, but after reading all of the raves about the iStick, I thought I'd give it a try. After all, it is roughly the same price and provides more power. The MVP at 11 watts is sufficient with most of my builds in my Kayfun, and more than enough for my Mini Pro Tank 2, but occasionally I find myself wanting a bit more power for certain builds in my Kayfun. From what I read, the MVP is a little more durable though, and has better battery life.
Well, the MVP v3 is rumored to come out around Christmas, so I thought about waiting for that...but I'm impatient so I went on the search for an iStick. Sold out (at least in the color I wanted) everywhere I looked. I didn't want to spend a fortune, so the decision became "wait for the MVP v3, or wait for the iStick to come back into stock. What decision did I make?
I bought the VaporShark rDNA 40. $225 for the device, sharkskin, and wireless charger.
The moral of this story is:
Never go mod-shopping after drinking too much Jack Daniels.

I can't say I regret my decision....in fact, I'm really excited, but without Jack speaking in my ear, I'd say if you have to get it now, get the iStick. If you can wait a month and a half or so, wait for the MVP v3.

The iStick uses an older technology to measure and deliver the power to your atty. it hits significantly harder than the MVP at the same voltage output as well as other regulated mods. It is also extremely small. Just about any clearomizer or atomizer looks gargantuan on it. Though this is a byproduct of the smaller size that many see as a positive attraction, I prefer a balanced and proportionate look and feel. Basically, the iStick is not a uniform mod in terms of its performance. However, if you only ever used the iStick you would never know it was different from other regulated devices. Moreover, you can compensate for the "harder hit" of the mod by lowering the wattage and you will find your sweet spot and definitely be happy. For my money (and considering an anticipated upgrade at some point) I would stay uniform with the newer technology of delivered power. However I would also wait a couple weeks (or till next paycheck) and get a Sigelei 50 watt, IPV2 V2, or ZNA 30. Though if it has come down to the iStick or MVP 2.0 I recommend the 2.0 based off my experience. Hope this helps!

I just got my MVP v2.0 today and so far I love it. Checking the counter and I am 188 toots in and I haven't had a dry hit yet. It is a little big and heavy, but it feels like a ruggedly built unit that should last a long time. It is my first vv vw battery, so from that standpoint I don't have alot to compare it to, but it was easy to figure out and is easy to use. Just my 2 cents. :2c:

I have both, and I really regret not just waiting for the MVP 3. I have hand problems that make the location and stiffness of the MVP 2 a problem, so I had mostly been using my VV v3s, which have a short battery life that requires frequent swapping out for charging. I also have an Aspire Nautilus BVC that requires a higher wattage than any of my other toppers. So I figured the Istick sounded great for use with the Nautilus and the liquid that I use the most. Here's my comparison.

  • They both have issues with the center of the 510 connection pushing in, but the MVP is easier to fix, since the connector is better built and better wired. Also, I have five VV v3s and two MVPs and have had the issue occur only on one of the VV v3s. I have one Istick, and it happened right out of the box.
  • My personal feeling (no proof) is that the 2200 ma rating for the Istick is an exaggeration, but I'm contrasting it to my Innokins which have better power management, so that may be why a charge doesn't seem to last as long as it ought to.
  • The power management sucks. At the lower ranges I prefer it runs two full watts higher than my Innokins, based on the settings I have to use for the same effect on the Nautilus BVC. The Istick runs enough hotter than the Innokins that I can't use my Davides without burning and rapid coil gunking using the same coils and liquids that I use on the Innokins.
  • The Istick is lighter, which makes it easier on my hands. It is also smaller, to the point that it is difficult for me to hold. I have large hands for a woman, and nerve problems that make it difficult for me to feel what I am doing, so this last is mostly a personal problem, but worth thinking about if you have large hands.

So, the Istick was a poor choice for me. If you prefer higher voltage/wattage, use pretty much the same topper all of the time, (so you can easily remember how far to tighten it without damaging the threads) and don't need an Ego connection without having to use an adapter, the Istick might be a good choice for you.
