Throat hit is a combination of two things: nicotine strength and warmth of the vapor. Warmer vapor comes most consistently from higher voltage models. You have been using 3.7 volt models.

If you don't want to step up to one of the better variable volt/watt models such as the Provari or Darwin, then I would look at a good 5 volt model. You will definitely get warmer vapor and better hit. The best 5 volt model on the market, with a lifetime warranty, is the 5 volt GLV2:

My KGO hits like a truck. It's made me cough like I was smoking for the first time lol.

Well the Provape-1 is not cheap at all. Are you sure that you are using the right cartos/attys? ImageShack® - Online Photo and Video Hosting A fellow ECF member posted this earlier - it's a list of voltage to ohm ratios and what attys/cartos are safe to use at what voltage. Usually the lower the better as long as it's still safe...

I can only recommend a few things. The Provari is a natural choice if you got the cash. You can make a 5v USB passthrough for a few bucks for some more power on a dime. VapeTalk - How to Make a 5V Passthrough for $4 - YouTube

You can make your own tank for free to try it out if you like. It only costs you your time and effort: Home made DIY Carto Tank Mod - YouTube

You'll have to punch your own carto with a nail and hammer or take a dremel and slot it out with a cutoff wheel. I don't recommend it for a brand new one. Perhaps try an older one first. Replacing the carto is as simple as pushing the old one through the tank with the new one.

Other than that you might look into a Scubagen which they sell here on ECF if you look around. They are in the $200-220 range but require more fiddling as you have to replace the coil and wick on them every month (which is cheap but not fun). From everything I have seen and heard it is a superior vape though because there is no polyfill.

I'd avoid the tornado tank at all costs. It's a rebranded ego-T at extra cost. For the same size of battery, the riva is better than the ego as it's 'unregulated' from 4.2v off the charger and will slowly drop as you use it down to about 3.3v until it cuts off and needs charged. The ego is a flat 3.3 - 3.2v battery. You'll always have higher voltage with a riva.

The ego-T atomisers are also not very good. Cartomisers or clearomisers are much better suited to ego/riva type batteries.

I would get something 'better' than an ego or riva completely though, as others suggested above. I would add the lavatube as another suggestion, one of the more affordable variable voltage options to consider.
