I ordered my first starter kit online, but the delivery was a day late. It finally arrived (and I'm loving it), but I ended up buying two packs of analogs because I wasn't sure if it might arrive on time. Should I trash the two packs or keep the safety net around?

If it were me, I'd keep them around as a safety net. Not everyone goes off the analogs immediately (I know I didn't). Sometimes, it takes a little while to get adjusted to vaping instead of smoking. Most people do a combination of both at first. But generally, if they have a good kit, and high enough nicotine juice, the analogs definitely are reduced in numbers? So what kit did you get? And extra juice? What flavors?

Thanks for reminding me of that. I've been trolling the boards around here since I purchased my kit online on a whim a couple of days ago and have seen that a lot of people do at least a few analogs the first couple of days to start.

I didn't discover all of the forums and do my research until after I made the purchase. I know it's a dumb move in the internet age, but it's worked out pretty solid so far (for the last 7 hours or so). I bought a Max 300. I don't know if they're new or what, but I haven't been able to really find any reviews or even users here. I hope it's just because they're new or something. Right now, I've just got some menthol carts and cartomizers. They sent me a free cherry e-juice with some extra empty carts (it wasn't mentioned in the order and was handwritten on the invoice...hmmmm)

If anything goes wrong with it, I'm definitely going to post it up here. The vaping community is pretty awesome (so awesome that this is the first message board I've posted on in like 6 years).

Do what I did...stick 'em in a bottom drawer someplace and leave them there. It's been four months, and mine are still there, untouched. I know they're there, but the fact that I have no desire for one whatsoever tells me I'm home free. What a great feeling! :)

open them and put them back, that way if you ever slip and want to take a drag they'll be both old and STALE

I checked them out. It looks like a rebranded version of the Njoy NPro (I don't remember the number). They are a tad expensive on their kits and replacement parts. It's also an "automatic' which means if someone mentions dripping, don't do it. I started out with the Njoy NPro (that was all that was available where I live and I hadn't found ECF yet. I moved on quickly, but I know others who have stuck with it. Because I averaged 2 PAD, I went with an eGo and I'm happy with it.

Good answer! They are there as a back up..but probably will taste like total crap when you try them.... Which they do anyway.. you just can't taste it yet. :) But hang in there and you will.

I kept a pack and a half around for about a month after I started vaping. I tried one after a week and it was nasty. I tried a couple more after a month and they had turned from nasty to downright disgusting. I threw away the open pack and gave the unopened one to someone I saw in a smoking area. Why throw them away if someone else who can use them is just gonna go buy a pack anyway.

I had seen around here that certain PV units were rebranded and had no clue if it was that. Thanks for the heads up about it and about the automatic and dripping. I want to try to avoid going back to the analogs, and destroying it, would be a bad idea. hehe

i would say it depends on your motives for going to ecigs. For the true "im going to quit right now at all costs!" kinda folk - id say - give em away.

For a "lets try it and see what happens" kinda person - id say keep them.

I was of the latter group, and still have an analog from time to time (liquor always requires an analog for me). But knowing they are there, and not having the desire to light one was really telling of my success.

I keep them around in case of hardware emergency. In the beginning I was paranoid so I carried my cigs in my other pocket (not the one they used to be in). Then I moved them to the car trunk. I did have a couple of no-charged-battery incidents when I actually smoked one. After that I bought a bunch more batteries, charging cables, passthrus so that won't happen again unless we lose power for an extended period (last year once my house was without power for 3 days, so that can happen).

One good thing though - they are not even cigarettes I like. They are the cheap cigs I was smoking before I quit (I could no longer afford my favorite cigs). So I am not attracted to smoking them at all.

Smoke'em if you got'em - work the e-cig into your routine - find the easiest analog dose times to replace with the e-cig - then, slowly, surely, methodically start to replace the harder analog dose times (after meals, mornings,...) and ween yourself off -

Took me approx. 5 weeks of concurrent usage to quit the chokers completely - my morning analog was the hardest to kick. But, it happened - and in spades.

When I got my Riva I had about 10 cigs left in a pack. That was about 6 months ago and I still have 4, those first six were smoked at the bar within the first 2 months that I had the Riva. I don't think about them anymore! Of course now I have a Silver Bullet at 6v and it beats hands down any cig when it comes to....well everything. Keep em around but don't be surprised if they just go stale. And remember...they are horrible!

My transition is NOT going as smooth as some. I'm FANATICALLY craving an analog about every 12 hours, wich is drastically down from what I used to smoke, but even now, I'm wishing I had a half a pack lying around as backup.

Don't kid yourself - quitting the nasty logs is fanatically difficult. Don't beat yourself up - continue with concurrent use with the sublime goal that one day (no pressure) you'll be analog free. The first step, one you've already taken so congrats with that, is to decide on a healthier life-style -- now, work it in until one morning, you wake up and find, damn: quitting wasn't HALF as hard as I thought it would be!

Keep it up -- check in here from time to time - we'll be here to kick your behind!
