What to get?

Hello all,

Ive recently been introduced to the idea of e cigs and thus am currently doing some research regarding it in order to get the most efficient ecigs. I prefer to have a 2 part e cig because ive heard that 3 part cigs which have an atomizer or a cartomizer (forgive the typo...if there is one) have a short life span and needs replacing every few months or less. Currently am trying to quit smoking so I would like some ideas of which ones i could go with. I also don't want to put in too much money into it. One thing that i was wondering about is whether or not there is a store where they sell these e cigs at. I mean an actual store like meijer or walmart or something else along those lines.

So yea basically
*cheap/resonable
*2part better? or 3 part? which one and why...
*good quality cigs
*do they sell at an offline store like meijer or walmart (in the united states).

if you want a 2 peice design look into the kr808d-1 (aka808) about the size of a real cig, try vapor4life(dot)com and litecig(dot)com, both have good prices and quick shipping. i would also suggest getting an extra bat and either extra juice to refill your cartos or extra cartos right off the bat, worst thing there is....running out, then youll want to buy smokes again, as far as stores that sell them i would look at smoke shops however they allways seem to be an off brand or inferior to those that you buy from online venders, hope this helps a lil bit an dchecking out those vids will help ya some to, have a great day!-)

lol i would forget about walmart or meijer for right now...same w smoke shops...from what i have seen, you can get cheaper and more selection online...

near the bottom of the main forum page, they have smaller forums divided by vendor....if youre wondering about a company before you order, go see what ppl are saying about them there, is awesome resource...

start watching videos and reading for a few days...think about what is important to you...and remember most of us dont end up with what we started with...thank goodness

A word of warning: the world of e-cigs can suck you in like you wouldn't believe. If it gets you off cigarettes, its worth every penny, even if you spend more than you originally planned on spending. That's happened to one or two of us, I believe.

If you absolutely need a local store, I've found that a lot of smoke shops (at least in my area) carry some e-cig stuff. The one I stopped at didn't have cartos for my kr8, but they did have a decent selection of juice. This was a life-saver for me in a potential e-cig emergency -- I was nearly out of filled cartos with no juice to top up and internet orders not scheduled to be delivered until after my supply ran out. If I couldn't find anything local, I was going to have to go back to analogs. Luckily I was able to find a juice that worked for me, so crisis averted. Also, lesson learned. Stock up early and often.

My two cents:
KR808D-1 is a great starter PV. This two piece unit with batt and cartomizers is easy for the beginning vaper.
Make sure to include several blank cartomizers(fill em yourself) and a variety of juice with your initial order.
I recommend Litecigusa.net($29.99 kr8 starter kit). Unlikely that you'll find a good vaping device at a reasonable price anywhere but at an online store.
The kr808 should get you started just fine. You'll probably add an additional PV to your repertoire after you get the hang of the whole vaping scene.

Hi there and welcome to the forum and pv lifestyle... if you're anything like me..you'll be spending way too much time on this site and on vendor's sites in the very near future.


1. The only way you will be able to pick up items from a traditional retailer at a reasonable price that I have found would be if you happen to be geographically located near a vendor and they are willing to let you come in to pick up your orders personally (like me with Liberty-Flights in San Diego). Outside of that, it will be very difficult. I was trying to avoid online stuff as well and found that most places that did sell a decent quality PV had them MAJORLY over-priced and for the most part the places had cheaply made and very expensive PVs, almost no e-juice selection and very unknowledgable staff.

(It should be noted that most of the places I found these at were smoke shops or "head shops" where their focus is on other smokeables and not neccessarily on tobacco or PVs)


2. For a good starter, the 808 seems like a good starter kit as it has a very similar size to an analog and not as many moving parts as you can get on other PVs. Also, it is extremely popular and it would grow with you for a while as you start to experiment with new accessories and vaping styles.

I would recommend checking out the eG0/Riva510/Tornado. Im getting the Riva510 from Liberty-Flights.com and 2 setups with goodies is 29.99 (with 20% off if you click the add). They are a local company in my area and having driven by their location I can verify they are in the US and they do seem to be a reputable business!

I preferred the eGO class devices because the bigger batteries means less time that I will likely be waiting to charge and less carrying around extra bats. However, they are slightly less analog like and that is a serious problem for some making the first transition.
