Good evening, as a new vape member in this community, I was wondering what would be the best option for a guy that seeks clouds like me. I'm a beginner and i dont really know what a good kit would be. I found a smok T-PRIV 220w with a tfv8 big baby. Would this be satisfying for my cloud needs?Any other options are well accepted of course.

Howdy and welcome :)
It depends a lot by what you mean by cloud chasing. It could mean a DL vape or it could mean you want to participate in the sport of making gigantic clouds. In the first instance you’re fine. In the second it gets more complicated. Cloud chasing has some similarities to drag racing. Everything is given up for maximum performance. As a result a true cloud chasing rig is not something one would want to vape on a daily basis

This is a vaping forum, so we call it "vapor". It's not smoke, because it isn't smoke. There is no combustion and nothing burning.

Personally, I'm not a fan of SMOK products. It's a personal bias and others may disagree with me.

You'll want to vape a juice that is mostly Vg (vegetable glycerin).

To answer your question, since you'll be a beginner vaper, I suggest a dual-battery or 3-battery regulated (variable wattage) mod. Avoid mechanical mods.

For the tank, I suggest the original Uwell Crown clearomizer tank. It comes with a variety of different ohm coils, so once you find the one you like best you can order more of that particular coil. I have a review of this tank here: Tanks & RDA's Ratings & Explanations

Choose your batteries wisely. You'll probably want four 25 amp batteries like Sony VTC5A. You'll need a Li-Ion battery charger like the Efest LUC V4.

I'm not a cloud chaser so I can't really say where to start. I mean, for one, you have to decide on a mod, and I'd recommend a two battery mod if you want to use low resistance coils (coils for cloud chasing) and there are so many good options out there. Smok has been inconsistent in the past I am seeing less complaints, and when Smok works and does what it does best (high wattage vaping, with cloud production and decent flavor, without temp control) Smok can actually be a good place to start, for some. If you do get a Smok mod I would probably go with a vendor that has a reasonable warranty period in case it's needed so you have some peace of mind. I don't consider Smok as durable as some other brands, although if treated well, they can perform well. Coil quality on Smok tanks can be somewhat inconsistent, and that can become a chore.

I'd check out the VV/VW section of the board, or even TC (unless you think you'll never want to use temperature control) but there are some good mods out there that do TC well.

If you'd like a tank that would ALLOW you to use TC as a cloud chaser, well, the Crown Uwell tank I believe has some stainless steel, TC capable coils and users rate it pretty highly for coil consistency, overall function as a tank, good flavor, and the coils last a long time. That might be a possible tank for you (either the original or the 3, the Crown 2 is not so well regarded.)

Keep in mind you don't have to limit yourself to a kit, you can buy a mod or a tank separately.

Based on feedback here at ECF, I would buy a Crown setup over a Smok tank probably, if I were a cloud chaser, which I'm not.

I'm not saying don't go with smok either if that looks great to you, I'm just offering up some other possible options. You could also look at the subforum for reviews of mods and gear and see if any of them interest you, etc.

Best of luck, the array of choices can seem dizzying at first but the main thing is, get your first setup. It may or may not be a "total win" for you, but I didn't land on my best vapes by magically searching them out, I had to do a bit of experimentation and failure, first. It's just how it goes sometimes.... because you will probably learn some of your vaping "preferences" by vaping, as well as build your skills, it's just kind of how it works..

If you make the jump to vaping, you'll need a backup setup anyway, so if what you get is not 100% what you want, it can still help you transition to vaping only as you learn more, although it's good you are doing your due diligence and etc.

Thanks a lot u took the time to answer guys, taking into consideration what Anna said, should i be able to buy a mod and a tank seperately, then how am i supposed to know which tank goes to the appropriate mod?Arent there chances of incombatibility? Since im new to this stuff i dont even know how to select the right ones haha, thanks again.

All tanks use a 510 connection thread, so they all "fit" together.

I highly recommend you choose a regulated mod that you can change the power output (in watts; variable wattage). This allows you to change your settings to change your vape "on the fly". A "fixed" wattage device doesn't allow you to change the settings. This would be like having a blender or food processor which had only one "fixed" speed or setting.

The only incompatability issue you might come across is choosing a tank that uses sub-ohm coils (less than 1.0 ohms) and your mod not having enough power or wattage to fire them. Most modern regulated mods sold today have at least 60 watts of power, which is more than enough watts to fire any sub-ohm coil. If you use a tank that uses a "standard" ohm coil (above 1.0 ohms) such as an Aspire Nautilus, you can use either a high wattage mod or even an under-powered mod.

cool friend i'll look into it, what about the mod tho?

Mod won't produce more smoke. At least not noticeably in a regulated mod.

Just get something you like the look of, in a price that's within your range, that has enough wattage to fire the tank you chose.

so after all this "meticulous" research of mine, i decided to purchase the fireluke mesh by freemax tank which i hope it will fit with an eleaf ikon 220 mod, or will it not? Just being extra picky lol sorry

The fireluke mesh will fit just fine on the eleaf iKonn 220. Remember to prime the fireluke mesh before using, and in my case it took about a tank and a half for the coil to break in. I like it at 55 to 60 watts with the airflow about 3/4 open. I hope you like it as much as I do, good luck.

Despite what others have said I love my T-Priv. It's a solid performer with intuitive controls. It also has pretty lights which was a deciding factor for me. I also like blowing clouds so I would recommend the SMOK Prince or the Vaporesso Cascade. I get thick clouds and great taste from both of these.
