What will the new 510 "upgrade" actually upgrade?

Prolly the two biggest upgrades will be that it's gasketless (so no accidental squishing of the gasket material and the resulting leaks and/or shorts) and it's adjustable. I believe the latter benefit would help you with your OCD vis-a-vis getting your atty to sit flush.

Rob calls these Hoopleproof (his perspective on the human race is possibly stilted from all the repair work he's had to do on our user-error mucked up reos).

Awesome :) that answers everything, thank you! And yes, that will be so wonderful if it addresses the flush sitting of the reomizer on the LP reo :).

If we are wary of replacing the new 510 connection ourself can we purchase it and send our Reo in to have it professionally replaced for a fee? I definitely want to get this upgrade but I'm a bit nervous playing around with it myself.

It will have to go to Rob because the 510 is pressed in.

Awesome guys, appreciate the info :). Does anyone know when it's estimated for release?

I may send my reomizer in with the reo so that Rob can maybe test it to see if it's flush. I emailed him the first day I got it and he said to mail it back and he would re press it and fit it for me. So perhaps he wouldn't mind checking it if I sent it in. I will have to ask him. It's going to be terribly hard to be without my reo baby for however long it takes to ship back and forth and have it's upgrade done. Ugh..... I may have to save up for my Reo SL LP or... my Reo SL mini (haven't decided which one I want yet erghh....) I love the SL edition though :).

He has fantastic customer service :)

What causes this leak behind the delrin cover? I take mine off periodically, and it's always dry. Just wondering if something goes wrong over time with the 510 connection. I do change the tube and bottle when trying juices, and don't put super glue on the nipple. Of course, I always wiggle the tube off the nipple using a small screwdriver - very gently. I don't pull it straight off the nipple.

Oh this is such a win for me... the REO OCD issue will be solved! Will be able to get the air hole 180 degrees exactly to the fire button! Huge WIN! :2cool:

My new 510 connection. Took the delrin insulator from one of my old squids and sanded it down leaving a small lip. Had just torn through my second standard insulator. Just wear and tear, don't really torque down the atomizer. Rubber and a sharp edge will cut eventually.

Also added two #2 brass washers for a solid connection to the positive contact. Slip them under the insulator sheath and slide over and through like normal.

No leaks thus far. Very happy. Hopefully lasts a long time...
