What would be best for a n00b with an urge to drip?

I'm 20 years old, and I've been smoking for nearly 1/4 of my life. I genuinely feel the effects of smoking primarily on my heart. My heart throbs and rattles and feels very unhealthy.

The lifestyle that I crave is on the opposite end of the spectrum from cigarette usage, hindering my aspirations and dreams.

I've used the typical "pen," styled devices with the cartomizers and I've never felt the actual fulfillment of my cigarette urges.

Until recently, I used a drip setup presented to me by a friend and for once my overwhelming urge to pick up a cigarette diminished. I just wanted to hit that thing ALL NIGHT!

I'm just wondering if anyone could recommend me a quality low-cost drip rig with a rebuildable atomizer. I don't consider myself a total noob, I just want to move above and beyond that old leaky vape pen.

I'd recommend the MVP2. But bear in mind it is a battery with electronics; best buy, but it will die eventually.
If you make your coils too low of resistance, the regulated systems like the MVP will not fire through it for safety reasons.
To ensure your coils are not too low resistance, use 32 gauge kanthal, and/or make lots of wraps; it's not that the mvp won't work, it's it takes more knowledge and skill to wrap enough coil to get enough resistance; it's a whole lot easier to just make what amounts to a short circuit and vape on that.

Once you are up to 5 posts here, you'll be able to go over to the RBA forum and get better answers there; I don't use drippers myself.

I got the trident last week for my first dripper and put on a king mod clone and it's pretty awesome. I'm not a fan of the king mod as it keeps firing in my pocket even though it's locked so I need to figure that out but the vaping is great. I'm out of town on vacation and went to a local shop where I am staying and picked up a private v2 for cheap and like that mod better. I may be buying the authentic one if I still like it in a couple weeks.

Given you said newbie you might consider IGO-L - very simple single coil - lots of room - small lip for extra juice - only $10ish investment.

I make 28 gauge 11 wrap micro coil (1.5 ohm) with cotton wick (ala Rip Tripper YouTube) and use it everyday on my MVP 2 at 8 watts with my DIY juice. Hits my sweet spot

It's REALLY easy to exceed the power a regulated mod like the MVP2 can provide if you're using multiple coils. You don't even need an RBA to push those to their limits, an iClear 30S with 1.5 heads maxes out the MVP at slightly over 4.2 volts. Any higher than that requires more wattage and amps than the MVP2 allows.

What you're really going to want is a mech mod and some 30A high drain batteries. You'll also need a charger, ohm meter (to check your coils for defects before using them), kanthal wire, and wicking material.

And you'll need to do a LOT of reading about battery safety, Ohms Law, and coil building. This can be dangerous if done wrong. You do NOT want to turn your ecig into a pipe bomb.

I'm heavily leaning towards your vape setup, is there any chance you have a video of it in action?

Which liquids are you using? I plan on using 100% VG, any suggestions?

I just got the igo-w, fantastic with a nice dual coil. Great throat hit, chucks the vapor, and has me buzzing after a couple hits. Although I haven't touched a cig in about 2 months.

Edit: The igo-w is about $15-$20. Best investment I've made. I'm a cloud chaser and a flavor junkie.

When I started dripping I used an igo l with a cronus clone around 1.2 or 1.3 ohms. Hits great and it's super easy

Yeah, IGO W and MVP-2 is the way to go. A regulated mod will help protect you as you gain skill at building coils, and the MVP-2 should offer plenty of power. Unless I am cloud chasing I never need more than an MVP.

Second the motion for an IGO-L. Put it ontop and MVP2 (don't have an MVP but sure it will fit)

I don't know why the MVP wouldn't work good with dual coils, keep the build over one ohm and it will work fine.

For Myself, 15 watts is more than enough for anything I have or intend to have. I can make big enough clouds that there is no way I can inhale it all anyways at that level.

I just started dripping a few days ago so I was in your shoes last week. I have an igo w4 dripper and its pretty easy to build on... as for a mod to go with that I bought a Tesla but there are countless others you could use, like the vamo or zmax

#12 - please don't tell me this was done with a vv/vw regulated mod! The regulated mods have internal circuitry that prevent them from exceeding their battery's amp limit. they will try to push up voltage/wattage until they hit the amp limit. Then they simply cut off. While I agree it's important to know the limits of your battery - stop the fear-mongering, please.
