What's a good rda for a first time build?

Btw, those screws on the mutation x are a bunch of crap. Can those be changed to a Phillips, maybe?

I tend to change all the screw on my rda's for S.S. Phillips screws. I don't know the threading on that one, but I normally get "Cheese head" machine screws from McMaster-Carr and cut down as needed.... sanding the cut smooth afterwards. You can get the screws in others head options.... hex, torx, slot..... but I can always find a Phillips driver, not so much with the others.

As for RDA or RTA.... I bottom feed a dripper and love it. However... I HATE dripping, too much like WORK for me:facepalm: So I tend to suggest kayfun's or the like as a good transition from cig-a-likes.

It's got these triangle head screws and came with a tiny little Allen shaped wrench for them. Lord knows I'll lose that at some point.

It does have a dual connection center post. Just doesn't seem to have much room for wicking.

Speaking of wick...I picked up a pack of Japanese organic cotton sheets. Is that fairly good to work with?

I've used that organic cotton and I liked it, but I ended up going back to standard cotton that I boil before use. Personal preference, but I like the taste better and it's super cheap. I don't think I'll run out of my current batch for at least a year. The dry hits could be due to your wick not being completely tight to the coil. It could also be the juice, but more than likely not. A good coil with the right amount of wick can completely transform the Vape.

Hey man

Newbie myself...sort of. Let me tell you what happened to me

Started OFF with rebuildable...RBA..and it was HELL. I have big bulky clumsy hands and it killed me.

Got a nautilus...wasn't fully satisfied so got a RDA and it was SO much easier. If you really want to get a rebuildable tank I would get something with holes in the post, wrapping those leads are...frustrating to say the least!

Anyways I am exactly like you. But make sure you try and control yourself because there is so much awesome stuff and so much awesome juice!

I now own about 10 or so RDA/RBA combined and I only really use 3 or 4 of them maybe. But I buy fasttech clones so at $10 a pop I can't complain.

I love my Reo bf mod...
I dripped for the last year before December when I got my Reo. Have a kayfun I use when out and about and dripping doesn't make sense, but dripped 99% of the time. I vape all day, so IMO it's easier to drip all day than deal with filling tanks... I usually build higher like .6 ohm for dual coil and 1.2-1.6 for single coil. This seems to make juice go further so I don't need to drip ever 2 or 3 vapes.
That said, I don't mind filling the Reo, maybe because it's toolless and I can just swap bottles if needed. 6ml juice capacity is nice, but I'm going to try those voltage vapor (maker of vmod) 9 ml bottles at some point.
