I presently have a roast in the oven.

It's the simplest thing in the world: in a dutch oven, put in a can of whole potatoes (drained), a large onion quartered, a handful of 'baby' carrots. Lay a frozen bottom round roast on top (don't ask me why, but it turns out wonderful if the roast is frozen when you start), sprinkle it with granular bullion, and pour in a cup of beer. Put on the lid, and slide it into an oven set on 200 degrees (don't bother preheating the over). Come back six hours later.

The roast is incredibly tender and the potatoes are little lumps of joy! :)
