I currently have an istick 30w and a Nautilus Mini. This setup is serving me well but I am looking for more flavor and possibly bigger clouds. I am not trying to get crazy. I just want to take a small step forward. I am not ready for dripping or building coils yet. I keep hearing about sub ohm tanks and that does intrigue me. I definitely want to stick with tanks.

Thanks in advance!

A Kanger Subtank Mini has more air flow (can be adjusted to be as restrictive as the Nautilus) and with subohm coils more vapor production. I think you can also get 1.2ohm premade coils for it. (so you don't have to jump right into subohm vaping if you prefer not to) You can buy coils or make your own with the included RTA deck.

The next step would be to get a Kanger Subtank Mini. It comes with factory OCC coils of .5 and 1.2 ohm (that you can buy and change out just like the Nautilus) and a rebuild deck for when you decide to grow into learning to build your own coils. I have a couple of them and use the 1.2 ohm factory coils @ around 20W (which can be rebuilt easily so don't throw them away when they get gunked or need replaced). Since you have the iStick you can use the factory OCC coils at 20 w with the 1.2 ohm or at 25 to 30 for the .5 ohm coils. You'll get more clouds with this tank. I also bought a cheap drip tip similar to the one on the Nautilus which is more restricted than the wide bore that comes with the subtanks because I am a mouth to lung vaper.

I am checking out that Subtank Mini now. Thanks!

While researching I also read good things about these as well. Does anyone have any experience with them?

I don't have any of those tanks, but they are all subohm stuff. If you want to blow cloud, you need to be up in the 50 watt mod range, minimum. Subohming is a big help for it as well. If you want advice, I'd take a hard look at the EVIC VT kit. For my part, I wouldn't buy a regulated mod without Temp Control any more, now the prices have come down so much. The VT comes with a matching tank included, that had +ohm, subohm and TC coils available. And if all else fails, it's still a 60 watt VW mod. There are other options out there, but that's an excellent choice, IMHO, to move you along to the next stage and see where you want to go. And having the TC as an ace in the hole is handy, I think. 60 watts will drive any of the tanks you mention in VW mods, no problem. ANd you can start with the included tanks and blow some subohm cloud before blowing the bucks on your Starre. FWIW, I use TC almost exclusively. In fact, I was going to re-build my ol' faithful Patriot dripper with TC wire tonite, if I can find my roundtuit.

As much as I hate to say it, eBay is a great place to window shop. WINDOW shop. you can just search "sub-ohm tank" and just about everything you can imagine will pop up. Sniff around there, then look at more reputable vendors to make a purchase. Some of the folks on eBay are legit, but not all.

i have the freemax starre (and should be getting vapemail with the starre pro today!)... the starre is an excellent tank - but can be a little power hungry (60w or so) - amazing flavor and great vapor production... the pro kicks it up a notch with a top fill option, well worth the upgrade

What mod do you use or recommend since it is a little power hungry?

i tend to use my v1 starre on my sigelei 100w+ box... I have one of the sig 150w TC boxes preordered, though - when that comes in, going to put the pro on it and test the TC coils out... my sig 100w has been excellent - part of the reason I bit the bullet and preordered the 150w TC box

suprtrkr may have the best suggestion. I am a Kanger fanboy and the SuBox kit is nice, but I have not seen anything bad about the eVic VT and getting TC for the same price as the Subox, the edge has to go to the VT. The only thing thing you are really losing with the VT is the re-buildable option the Subox comes with, but for about $25 you can just buy a black or white SubTank mini later, both of which would match the white or black VT nicely.

Can you clue me in on the path you took?

I was using the Nautilus tanks with an Istick for a month or two, then I got that "I need a little more" feeling. I then moved on to an Atlantis tank and Segelei 100W box. It was like night and day. The sub-ohm experience was just what I needed. Huge vapor, lots of flavor, I was in heaven. Coils for the Atlantis, then, were 2.50 to 3 bucks each! I use dark, sweet, coil killing juices. I felt I was spending too much on vaping, and worse, I still felt trapped by the need to buy the factory coils. They were just another thing to not run out of. I then started to research the rebuildables. I started with a Plume Veil dripper, as I was told it was a good base to learn building on. It was. Then I moved on to RTA's. I got a Lemo, then a Lemo drop. Moved on to A Cthulhu and finally have settled on a Billow V2 for now.

Point being I went through a lot of gear that I could have just skipped over. I wish I had just gone from the Nautilus right to the rebuilding. With regulated mods and this forum, rebuilding is safe and easy. Once the initial investment is made, vaping becomes nearly pennies a day.

Thanks so much for the info. I have a lot of research to do now. I kinda feel like I really need to evaluate what my needs and wants are and go from there.

I feel like I really want to stick with tanks and possibly even rebuildable tanks to bypass the factory replacement coils. Dripping is just not really going to work for me always being on the go. So I really need to look at what the options are and what mod to go with.
