Looking to upgrade from Vision Spinner II

Hello,

I am rather new to vaping. I got my first setup about a month ago. My hope was that it would replace the smokeless tobacco I was using. So far I have not slipped once. BTW, I started on the smokeless a few years ago to get on the cancer sticks.

My current setup is a Vision Spinner II with Nautilus Mini w/ 1.8 ohm coil. I am looking into purchasing an Eleaf iStick 50w, but I am not planning on going sub ohm yet. I like the price point of the iStick, and it would allow me to step up to RDAs and RTAs when I am ready.

My question is this; will I get much benefit out of the iStick 50w if I keep using the Nautilus Mini. I am not sure how hard I can push that tank.

Well, you will get much longer battery life. As far as pushing the tank too hard, start out at a low wattage setting and increase very slowly until you reach the wattage that works for you. I'm thinking 7 or 8 watts to start out and you should be fine. If your vape starts to taste burnt, back down the wattage.

The iStick(s) bring the mini Nautilus to life.

Spinner II was never enough power, although some people will tell you it does.

4.8v (max) on the Spinner is not even comparable to 13-14 watts on the iStick... and you might even get to 15w as well.

If you are vaping your spinner at 4.8v with a 1.8Ω coil you are getting 12.8 watts.

I usually run between 15-18 watts on my Nautilus using 50/50 juice. Much higher than that and I get dry hits unless I cover the airhole and blow into the drip tip to force feed the wick every 3-4 puffs. So for that reason I usually stay at or below 18 watts.

The iStick will definitely give you longer battery life between charges as it has a 4400mah internal battery.

Just ordered a 30w iStick (in Blue) to replace my 20w in Blue, which has gone a bit crazy... (6-7 months day in day out)

I can't see me going anywhere near even 20w, but it'll be fun to run a dual coil RDA without turning to a mech.

Mini Nautilus on iStick is fabulous! (So is Subtank Nano) - 30w or 50w, it makes no difference, just don't try it too powerful

I think you will be a happy vaper when it arrives. I went from spinner 2 to the original I stick 20. It was a great leap up.

Awesome setup, it's still my daily vape, some say it was yesterdays tank, well I still love mine, everyone is right btw, Istick will bring it to life, I have the 30W and run mine at 13 watts , largest air hole on a 70VG 30PG juice and I love it...but we all have our preference..

My first iStick was a 50W in black. Liked it so much I bought another, silver because they were out of the blue. It matches up with the Nautilus Mini really nice.

If you don't mind holding a box mod that's just a little larger and just a little heavier, I would get a iStick 50W over a 30W. I have both and I've found the power performance of the 50W much better, even at lower wattage. As you may have heard, the 20W/30W tend to hit "hotter" than the 50W. This is due to the electronics in the mods. I've found that the 50W delivers more consistent and smooth power, making vaping at any wattage more enjoyable.

I my iStick 50 with my Nautili (full and Mini) I just resurrected them a couple of weeks ago after a few-month hiatus. I'm also running Kanger ProTank2s (with home-built coils) and Kanger Subtank Nanos. I get about 2-3 days from the iStick 50 before I have to recharge. I liked the 50 so much that I grabbed a 30 (not nearly as long of battery life, but a really nice portable size.) ETA - I run my Nautis around 12W and have hit about 15, but I use higher VG juices (30P/70V). It's a happy spot for me.

I have yet to really push the 30 or the 50 above 22-23W (I have a little RDA that I play with occasionally) but I don't have a lot of need for a lot of power - I just love the battery life.

I did get the 1.6ohm BVCs when I ordered new heads, but I can't tell much difference between the 1.8s and the 1.6s. (My guess is that one or the other is a Quality Control "leftover" that they're willing to sell )

Good choice,

i have my istick 50watt for 3 days now and i'm very happy about it. Battery is now on 50% but that's mainly because of my sub ohm tank. I tend to switch between the sub ohm tank and the normal tank 1.8ohm.

I think you made a very good decision. The 50W will give you lots of room to grow.

Forward thinking like this will save you lots of money and frustration in the long run.
